Accompaniment is a conversation, not just keeping time. I provide steady, sensitive tabla support for vocal and instrumental recitals across Bengaluru, ensuring the lead artist's energy always stays front and center.

A memorable performance alongside the maestro, Pandit Vinayak Torvi sir, at the Sangeet Natak Academy in Bhopal. Accompanying a senior vocalist of his stature is always a great learning experience.

About Hindustani Classical Accompaniment

When I am on stage, my job is to listen first. Whether you are performing a complex Khayal or a delicate Thumri, I focus on balancing my Dayan and Bayan levels to match your scale and mood. I arrive an hour early for a thorough sound check because the rhythmic foundation needs to be seamless for the music to truly flow.

My Approach to Accompaniment

Accompaniment is about supporting the lead artist, not taking the spotlight. I see the tabla as my mother tongue—a language I learned from my appa and guru, Pandit Rajgopal Kallurkar. My goal is to build a rhythmic dialogue with you, reacting to your improvisations and providing a solid theka that grounds the performance.

What I Bring to the Stage

  • AIR Standards: As an All India Radio 'B High' graded artist, I maintain a high technical standard suitable for formal auditoriums and music festivals.
  • Versatility: I am comfortable accompanying various vocal genres like Khayal and Bandish, as well as instrumentalists playing Sitar, Bansuri, or Sarod.
  • Logistics: I always bring two sets of Tabla tuned to different scales. This allows me to adjust instantly if the main artist needs to shift pitch mid-recital.

Preparing for Your Concert

I treat every event as a fresh collaboration. I typically arrive 60 minutes before the curtain rises. This ensures we have 20 minutes for a dedicated sound check to balance the treble and bass levels against your vocal or instrumental output. Whether it is a large festival stage or an intimate baithak, the focus remains on creating musical magic together.

I grew up with the rhythm of the tabla in my ears, thanks to my father and guru, Pt. Rajgopal Kallurkar. Music is not just my profession; it is how I connect with life and share that energy with others. I am always happy to meet fellow artists and build something meaningful on stage.
