About Concert & Event Flyers

Every event featured here requires distinct preparation. Whether I am tuning for a vocalist in a packed Jayanagar auditorium or setting up for an intimate baithak in Hubli, my focus is always on the acoustic balance—ensuring the rhythm supports the melody without overshadowing the main artist.

These flyers represent more than just dates on a calendar. They are the documentation of my conversations with the tabla. When you see a concert announcement, it often follows a specific technical rhythm I have developed over the years.

The Preparation Process

Every performance, whether it is a Hindustani classical vocal recital or a fusion jugalbandi, starts long before the curtain rises. For auditorium shows, I allocate at least an hour for arrival to manage the sound check. This involves balancing the Dayan (treble) and Bayan (bass) levels to ensure the sound carries clearly through the house system. For baithaks or unplugged home gatherings, the challenge is acoustic—I adjust my hand weight to suit the room size so the percussion provides support rather than volume.

Collaborating with Artists

I find my energy in the live exchange with fellow musicians. You will see flyers featuring flute maestros like Pandit Pravin Godkhindi or vocalists from various schools of thought. My approach to accompaniment is rooted in listening. Whether the repertoire is Khayal, Thumri, or Bhavageete, I aim to match the artist's energy, providing steady thekas that allow the main performer to improvise freely.

Performance Variety

My work takes me to different environments. Some flyers showcase large music festivals like the Bagalkot Rashtreeya Sangeetotsava, while others highlight community-centric tributes. I am comfortable across these spectrums, from the structured nature of classical concerts to the improvisational spirit of fusion sets. If you are planning an event or a concert series, these examples show how I integrate into various musical ensembles to bring a balanced, rhythmic foundation to the stage.
