Building Essential Gymnastics Skills
Think gymnastics is only for kids or pros? Think again. Whether you are 5 or 50, mastering the basics is where the real fitness gains—and fun—begin. See how we break down the moves.
Every class begins with a proper warmup. This is crucial for preparing the muscles for exercise, preventing injury, and getting your body ready to learn new skills.
Flexibility is a cornerstone of gymnastics. Here, our gymnasts work on their splits and backbends, key exercises for improving range of motion and body control.
Hard work on flexibility pays off. This video shows the dedication of our gymnasts as they work towards achieving full splits, a skill that requires patience and consistent stretching.
Core strength is essential for almost every gymnastics move. This drill, using foam blocks, helps develop a strong and stable core, which is fundamental for balance and power.
Rope climbing is a classic gymnastics conditioning exercise that builds incredible upper body and grip strength. Even from these humble beginnings, we focus on building the power needed for advanced skills.
A perfect handstand requires balance, shoulder strength, and a tight core. This is a fundamental skill we teach all our members, as it forms the basis for many other acrobatic movements.
About this collection
You will not find us rushing you into backflips on day one. Our foundational program at our Whitefield facility relies on 'progressive spotting,' where coaches physically guide your posture using foam mats and blocks, so you safely build the muscle memory for handstands, bridges, and rolls. We prioritize your technique over speed, ensuring you feel stable and confident in every stretch before moving to the next level of difficulty.
Why Foundation Matters
Gymnastics is often misunderstood as just 'flips and tricks.' At RnR Fit, we see it differently. It is the ultimate baseline for functional fitness. By focusing on foundational skills, you aren't just learning to cartwheel; you are building core stability, shoulder strength, and mobility that translates into everything else you do.
What You Will Actually Do
We train in a 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse environment in Whitefield that is built for progression:
- Safe Landings: We use professional foam pits and landing blocks. This eliminates the fear of falling, which is the biggest hurdle for adult beginners.
- Strength-to-Skill Ratio: You will see a mix of HIIT-style warm-ups paired with specific skill drills like rope climbing or balancing on beams. This keeps your heart rate up while you work on coordination.
- Customized Progression: We track your development over a 3-month term. Whether you are working toward your first split or a handstand, our NIS-certified coaches use specific spotting techniques to help you unlock the range of motion you need.
Who Is This For?
- Adults: If you are bored with the treadmill and want a workout that makes you think, this is it. It is effective stress relief.
- Kids: We focus on developing discipline and focus in a way that feels like playtime rather than a lecture.
We keep the environment non-judgmental and collaborative. You will see people of all fitness levels here, and the focus is always on your personal growth, not on comparing yourself to the person on the next mat. Come by for a session and find your own groove.
