About Designer Backs & Cutwork
Whether you have a specific vision or need help conceptualizing, we start with a 1:1 session at our Sadashivnagar studio. We discuss fabric compatibility, embroidery density, and structural details like bust cups and concealed hooks to ensure the back design sits perfectly against your skin.
Every blouse we create is a result of a conversation. When we design a statement back, we think about more than just the pattern. We consider the weight of the fabric, the type of embroidery, and how it will sit on your frame.
Our Design Approach
We specialize in intricate handwork, using techniques like Maggam, Zardosi, and Aari to bring your ideas to life. Whether you are looking for a classic keyhole, a bold deep U-cut, or modern sheer net panels with scalloped borders, we tailor the structure to match. If you have a specific motif in mind, like paisleys or floral vines, we integrate those into the cutwork to create a cohesive look that flows from the neckline down.
The Process
- Consultation: We meet to finalize neck depths, sleeve lengths, and the level of handwork you prefer.
- Material Selection: We guide you on whether your saree fabric pairs better with raw silk, velvet, or brocade to support the embroidery without sagging.
- Stitching & Fittings: Our turnaround time is 10 to 20 days, depending on how heavy the embroidery is. We include 1 to 2 trial sessions to correct the fit, ensuring the hooks, zippers, and padding are placed exactly where they need to be for comfort and a smooth silhouette.
Since everything is made to order in our Sadashivnagar studio, we focus on getting every measurement right before the first stitch, so you walk away with a piece that feels like it was made just for you.
