Build Your Foundation: Strength & Flexibility Training
Before you stick a backflip, you need the base. I focus on real strength and flexibility so your body can handle the big moves safely.
Flexibility is just as important as strength. We incorporate drills like backbends and handstands to improve mobility and control.
This clip shows two key exercises: a wall-assisted handstand for building shoulder strength and a bar pullover drill for core and upper body power.
I provide hands-on assistance to help students learn proper form for bar exercises, like this skin-the-cat drill which is great for shoulder mobility.
Another student working on her bar skills with my support. We break down complex movements to make them achievable for beginners.
Group training for strength. These students are working on their grip strength and core by doing leg raises on the bars.
Our classes cover all aspects of physical fitness, including strength training on the bars. This student is practicing a hanging leg raise.
Practice mode is on. I'm working on my own strength and skills, including backflips and muscle-ups, to stay at the top of my game.
Our classes include a variety of exercises to build a well-rounded athlete, from flexibility work like backbends to strength drills like planks and handstands.
We have a dedicated girls' gymnastics batch where we focus on building strength and flexibility through drills like wall-supported backbends.
Never give up. This student is pushing her limits with strength training, working towards her gymnastics and calisthenics goals.
About Build Your Foundation: Strength & Flexibility
Forget flashy moves for a second. In my sessions, we actually use the bars to build raw grip strength and flexibility. Most people jump into flips and pull a muscle because they skip the conditioning. Here, we start with wall-assisted handstands and bar pullovers so your body is ready before we ever try the landing.
If you want to master gymnastics or parkour, you cannot skip the foundation. My training style is simple: build the machine first, then add the tricks.
Why Strength & Flexibility Matters
Without flexibility, you are prone to injury. Without grip strength, you will struggle on the bars. My sessions in Laxmi Nagar are designed to fix this. We incorporate:
- Calisthenics Conditioning: This is not just about looking fit. It is about control. Leg raises and pull-ups are mandatory if you want to hold a solid handstand.
- Mobility Work: Tight shoulders or hips stop you from progressing. We use wall-assisted backbends to open up the chest and increase your range of motion.
- Safe Spotting: I am right there with you. Whether you are learning to hang from a high bar or trying your first skin-the-cat drill, I provide the hands-on support needed to prevent accidents.
What You Will Actually Do
We do not just lift weights. We use your body weight to build muscle memory. I focus on core engagement exercises, shoulder stability for handstands, and active flexibility for deeper backbends. Whether you are training at my academy or booking a home session in Noida or Ghaziabad, the approach stays the same. We go slow, hit the form, and get you strong enough to handle whatever flips you want to learn next. You do not need to be fit to start; you just need the will to show up.
