Outdoor Sketching and Live Drawing Sessions in Vashi
We trade the studio walls for Vashi’s parks and streets. Our outdoor sketching sessions are all about capturing movement, real life, and the energy of the moment on your page.
A collage from our live sketching session for drawing grade exam students. This unique outdoor experience teaches them to draw human figures in motion and observe real life environments.
A behind the scenes look at our live sketching class in a park. We guide students to capture the essence of a scene, focusing on proportions and action rather than getting lost in small details.
This video captures the challenge and fun of live sketching in a busy cafe. Students learn to draw from memory when their subjects move, a skill that greatly enhances their observation and speed.
Our students set up in a local park, fully concentrated on their sketchpads. These sessions are designed to build their confidence in drawing in a public setting.

A student works on her human figure sketches during our outdoor session. The goal is to quickly capture the posture and movement of people in the park.
Another student deeply focused on her clipboard, sketching the scenes around her. Outdoor drawing is a practical application of the anatomy and perspective lessons learned in the studio.
An over the shoulder view of a student's work in progress during a live sketching class. You can see the initial outlines of figures as she captures the scene in front of her.
We believe art is for everyone. This video from a street sketching session shows the diversity of our students, all learning together to capture the vibrant life of the city on paper.
About Sketching from Life: Outdoor Sessions
We move away from rigid studio exercises to capture the real energy of Vashi’s parks and streets. In these sessions, if your subject moves, you keep drawing. It forces you to stop overthinking, abandon the 'stick figure' habit, and start trusting your hand. You will learn to quickly spot the body of your subject, fix proportions on the fly, and put the action on paper before the moment passes.
For students preparing for Elementary and Intermediate Drawing Grade Exams, outdoor sketching is not just a hobby; it is a technical requirement. When you are sitting in a park in Vashi Sector 17 or a busy cafe, you don't have the luxury of a reference photo that stays still. This is where you learn to translate anatomy theory into real-world observation.
We structure these sessions to build confidence. We know it can be intimidating to draw in public, so we keep our groups small and supportive. We help you learn to see the core shapes rather than getting lost in small details. Whether you are capturing a cricket match or sketching commuters, the goal is the same: get the proportions right, show the action, and enjoy the process.
We provide feedback in real-time. If your figure looks too thin or the anatomy is off, we will be there to nudge you, just like in the studio: 'Idhar ka body kidhar hai? Bada banao!' (Where is the body? Make it bigger!). This hands-on approach ensures you return to the studio with sharper observation skills that reflect directly in your exam mock papers and portfolio work.
Renuka's Art Zone
I’m Renuka, and with my mom Swati, we run Renuka’s Art Zone. We have been teaching for over 26 years, and we believe the best way to truly understand art is to get out there and draw what you see. We will push you, we will tease your anime-style figures if they are too thin, and we will make sure you get the proportions right.
