Grab your sketchbook and join me to explore the city. We slow down, observe our surroundings, and turn everyday scenes into art together.

A fantastic day of sketching at Defence Colony Market. Our group found inspiration in the colorful storefronts, and I created this soft pastel piece capturing the light and shadows under the trees.

Here I am setting up my easel for a day of urban sketching at Sunder Nursery in Delhi. These plein air sessions are a great way to connect with nature and fellow artists.

This is a soft pastel painting I created during an outdoor art session at Mahagun Moderne. I love showing my students how to capture the scenery around them, from the buildings to the greenery.

Our group had an amazing time at the Lodhi Art District, sketching the incredible murals. I used pastels on paper to create my own interpretation of the colorful street art.

This is what my outdoor workshops are all about: good company, beautiful locations like India Gate, and creating art together. I love seeing everyone proudly display their watercolor paintings at the end of our session.

Painting the beautiful tulips at Lodhi Garden was a wonderful experience. I used watercolors to capture the vibrant pinks and the soft morning light in this plein air painting session.

A beautiful Sunday morning spent sketching the magnificent Red Fort in Delhi. This video shows my process of using pen and watercolor to capture the monument's details, from the initial sketch to the final vibrant artwork.

About this collection

For our outdoor sessions, you do not need a professional kit to start. I provide basic supplies if you are a complete beginner, but if you have a travel watercolor set or a favorite fineliner, bring it along. We usually meet at locations like Sunder Nursery or India Gate, where we focus on perspective and speed—perfect for getting past that initial blank page anxiety.

Why Join Urban Sketching

Urban sketching is more than just drawing. It is a way to hit pause in our fast-paced city lives. Whether you are standing in the middle of the bustling Mehrauli flower market or finding a quiet corner at Humayun’s Tomb, the goal is to capture the moment.

What We Focus On

  • Plein Air Techniques: I teach you how to handle perspective without getting bogged down in rigid geometry.
  • Mediums: We use pen and ink for structure, followed by watercolor washes to bring the scene to life. If you prefer oil pastels or simple pencil sketches, that works too.
  • Locations: We rotate across Delhi NCR, covering everything from the lush greenery of Lodhi Garden to architectural marvels like the Red Fort and Qutub Minar.

For Everyone

No formal art school is needed here. Sabke andar artist chhupa hai (Everyone's got an artist hidden inside). These sessions are about meeting fellow creators, sharing tips, and having a relaxing time while we learn to see the beauty in daily life.
