Meet the Teachers and Students of Renuka's Art Zone
We are Swati and Renuka, a mother-daughter team teaching art in Vashi for over 26 years. This is a look into our studio culture and the progress our students make every single day.
We are Swati and Renuka, the mother daughter duo behind Renuka's Art Zone. With decades of combined experience, our mission is to create a nurturing space for artists of all ages to grow.
A little more about me, Renuka. As a NID and NIFT alumnus, I bring a modern approach to our classes, specializing in drawing foundations, watercolor, and multimedia art.
These are the moments we live for as educators. Seeing our students express their joy and feeling of accomplishment is the reason we have been teaching for over 26 years.

About Meet Our Teachers & Talented Students
We do not believe in fluff. If you are drawing something too small or flimsy, you will hear me say it directly: 'Idhar ka body kidhar hai? Bada banao!' (Where is the body? Make it bigger!). We focus on getting the fundamentals right—correct pencil grip, light and shadow, and observation—because that is what builds the confidence to actually create.
We believe art should be accessible and fun, not intimidating. That is why our studio in Vashi is designed to be a community space where you can relax, learn, and grow. Whether you are a complete beginner picking up a pencil for the first time or a student prepping for Drawing Grade Exams, we have a path for you.
Swati, with over 26 years of experience, leads our foundation batches. She is strict about the basics—pencil grip, geometric shapes, and perspective—because if you learn the rules correctly, you can break them later. I (Renuka) focus on the modern side, bringing in my training from NID and NIFT to teach watercolors, multimedia, and portrait sketching.
We are particularly proud of our students who go beyond the studio walls. From Nia winning coloring competitions to Shubhangini and Myra taking gold and silver in school-level drawing contests, seeing our students gain the confidence to compete and win is what keeps us going.

What if I have never drawn before? We love teaching beginners. Our foundation course starts from scratch—we fix your pencil grip and teach you how to observe objects before shading them.

Do you offer individual attention? Yes. Our batches are small (6-8 students). You will not be lost in a crowd. We work at your pace, whether that is fast or slow.

What is the vibe like? It is a chill, supportive environment. We take our art seriously, but we do not take ourselves too seriously. You will find us joking around, correcting technique with a laugh, and celebrating every small win.
