About Solo & Jugalbandi Recitals

In a traditional baithak-style recital, the magic happens in the silence between notes. I structure every performance to guide the audience from the meditative, slow-paced aalap through to the high-energy rhythmic jhala, ensuring a complete musical arc that holds the room's attention, whether it is a quiet corporate gathering or a concert hall.

Every performance is a 'swar yatra', or musical journey. When you book a solo recital, you are bringing the authentic tradition of the Etawah and Jafferkhani baaz (styles) to your space. The sitar is not just an instrument here, it is a voice.

For those looking for a more dynamic experience, the jugalbandi is a spontaneous musical conversation. It usually features me and a tabla maestro, where we bounce rhythmic ideas off each other. It is unpredictable and lively, making it an excellent choice for audiences who appreciate the interplay between melody and percussion.

To ensure the best sound, please note that we require a carpeted riser and high-quality microphones for the sitar and tabla to capture the nuances. Whether it is a classic Raag Yaman or a rare composition, my goal is to keep the music alive and share that meditative joy with you. We travel across India to perform, bringing the full experience to your venue.

Music is a journey for me, one that I have been blessed to learn from my gurus. I am simply a medium for the raag, and my goal is to share that 'parampara' with you, making each performance a special musical conversation.
