About this collection

Each Pournami gathering is a quiet confluence of Ramananjali music, classical dance offerings, and collective meditation, held in the serene atmosphere of our Mekhri Circle shrine. The evening follows a traditional flow—from musical offerings to puja and the meditative practice of pradakshina—all aimed at turning one's attention inward.

The full moon, or Pournami, has long been a time for spiritual heightening. At the Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning, we observe this day as an opportunity for community and introspection. These gatherings are not mere performances but spiritual offerings rooted in the practice of self-enquiry.

Every month, the programme varies, yet the core essence remains consistent. We begin with Ramananjali music—compositions dedicated to Bhagavan—often accompanied by Natya, or classical dance, which serves as a visual prayer. These offerings are followed by Ashtottara Puja and Pradakshina, where we walk around the shrine while chanting the Aksharamanamalai.

The gathering concludes with the distribution of Prasadam. It is a simple, peaceful space where devotees, students, and curious seekers come together to pause, reflect, and ground themselves in the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi. Whether you are well-versed in our traditions or simply looking for a moment of quiet in the city, you are welcome to participate. We maintain a regular calendar of these events at our Mekhri Circle campus, and we invite you to reach out to confirm the timing and specific nature of the upcoming Pournami programme.
