About Performing Arts Education (Music & Dance)
Art as a Path to Self
For us at Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning, music and dance are more than just skills – they're part of self-enquiry. Following Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi’s simple teaching, 'Who am I?', every class is about grounding yourself (naanu yaaru anta aalochane madodu - reflecting on 'Who am I?') while exploring our cultural roots.
What We Offer
- For kids (4+): Indian culture comes alive in Ramana Summer Camps - shlokas, drama, stories, and stage shows all packed into fun, value-based experiences. Weekly Bala Kendra classes use art to help children manage emotions and build self-awareness.
- For those with prior training: Our nATyOpAsana workshops deepen your understanding of Bharathanatyam, including the Ramananjali Nritya Repertoire and the basics of Nattuvangam. nAdOpAsana workshops take Carnatic music lessons further, with advanced pieces and a focus on the true purpose behind the music.
Practice Meets Performance
We believe every student should get to perform, so you’ll find yourself on stage often:
- Cultural festivals (like Navaratri and Sivaratri) at the Shrine
- Rangollaasa debut concerts for seniors
- Every camp and workshop wraps up with a group performance
How We Learn
Whether online or at our Bengaluru campus, you learn from experienced Gurus who see art as a spiritual journey. Our approach is a balance of discipline, fun, and real stage performance opportunities. Not every day is easy, but that’s where the real learning happens – both in art and in yourself.

My Story
Namo Ramana! We started this centre with Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi’s teachings in our hearts. Here, art isn’t just art—it’s prayer. We sing, dance, act, and meditate, all to ask one simple thing: ‘Who am I?’ Kids find a friend in Ramana, learning shlokas and stories. Ellarigu aadara swagata! (Warm welcome to everyone.) Whether you come for Carnatic music, Bharatanatyam, or just to sit quietly, you’ll find a space to be yourself.
