About Retail & Hospitality Architecture
I don’t see buildings as just walls and glass - for me, spaces should feel like they breathe. I try to bring that sense of poetry, or what I call ‘Alankar’, into every project. Whether it's a cafe, restaurant, or shop, I want it to be more than a spot for transactions - it should feel like a place where people genuinely want to spend time.
How I Approach Spaces
- Always looking for ways to mix comfort with responsibility. I think a great commercial space makes people feel good, but also does right by the planet.
- You’ll find I use a lot of techniques like solar passive architecture and natural light optimization in retail, so spaces feel fresh and energy bills don’t go wild.
- I love playing with materials - maybe exposed brick, sometimes steel, sometimes even a bit of wood thrown in. Every project needs its own vibe.
What I Work On
- Cafes and restaurants, from small street-side joints to bigger fine-dine spots.
- Boutique hospitality architecture - those one-of-a-kind commercial buildings you don’t forget easily.
- Mixed-use hubs where retail, dining, and even offices and hotels all blend together.
Real Examples
Once in Noida, I designed a commercial facade with a huge curved cutout and vertical fins. Not just for show - it actually kept the sun off the café inside. Another time, I made sure retail and cafes opened right onto green patios, so you feel like you’re almost outdoors.
My stamp? Spaces that look good, work smart, and have a story behind them.

My Story
Architecture kinda crept up on me, you know? Rafta rafta woh meri hasti ka saaman ho gaye (slowly, it became the essence of my being). I look at the glass jungle everywhere and feel restless. For me, it’s not just about concrete, it’s about making spaces that breathe and last. I call it Alankar – turning lines and materials into poetry. Seeing Technopolis still alive after 18 years, that’s the real joy. I want every project to have its own story.
