Restaurant & Retail Interior Design
Brand & Layout Strategy
- Narrative Development: Creation of a "Spatial Story" aligned with brand identity (e.g., heritage themes or modern retail concepts).
- Zoning Plans: Strategic floor planning using material transitions and color-blocking to define distinct zones.
- Efficiency Layouts: High-density floor plans maximizing seating covers or retail display capacity without compromising flow.
Visualization & Documentation
- 3D Walkthroughs: Photorealistic renders to visualize lighting effects, textures, and spatial volume.
- GFC Drawings: Comprehensive Good-for-Construction sets including civil, false ceiling, flooring, and electrical plans.
- Material Palette: Selection of tactile materials (terrazzo, steel frames) balancing commercial durability with aesthetics.
Bespoke Design & Lighting
- Custom Fixture Design: Industrial design and prototyping coordination for unique lighting elements (e.g., custom pendants, cones).
- Furniture Detailing: Detailed fabrication drawings for fixed furniture like banquettes, reception desks, and display units.
- Art Integration: Structural design for installation art elements integrated into the architecture.
Project Execution
- Vendor Coordination: Collaboration with specialized lighting and fabrication vendors to ensure design fidelity.
- Site Supervision: Periodic visits to check execution quality against issued drawings.
Eco-Resort & Hospitality Architecture
Site Analysis & Master Planning
- Context Study: Detailed analysis of sun paths, wind flow, and vegetation to ensure low-impact structure placement.
- Terrain-Responsive Layout: Design of stilt or split-level structures that follow natural slopes to minimize soil cutting.
- Zoning: Master planning for guest blocks, staff quarters, and circulation paths designed as nature trails.
Architectural Design
- Vernacular Envelopes: Building design using site-specific materials like Rammed Earth, Stone, or locally sourced Timber.
- Roofscape Design: Signature "Canopy" or "Machan" style roofs for shading and natural ventilation.
- Passive Systems: Orientation and fenestration planning to maximize natural light and cross-ventilation.
Technical Engineering
- Structural Coordination: Design of lightweight or hybrid structural systems (steel combined with bamboo or wood).
- MEP Integration: Planning for remote-site services including water harvesting and septic systems.
- Material Research: Specification and testing of non-standard materials for longevity.
Construction Mentorship
- Stage-wise Reviews: Critical checks at foundation, plinth, and roof levels.
- Craftsmanship Guidance: Technical direction for local masons on vernacular techniques like earth wall finishing or thatch weaving.
Building Facade & Exterior Design
Concept & Identity
- Visual Strategy: Facade concept design tailored to building function, ranging from privacy screens to bold retail branding.
- Material Innovation: Selection of unique cladding options such as stone-resin, CNC-cut screens, or sand-blasted stone.
Technical Detailing
- Fixing Details: Safety-compliant detailed drawings for anchoring stone cladding and metal screens.
- Fenestration: Design of window openings, louvers, and pergolas to manage heat gain and privacy.
Lighting Strategy
- Architectural Illumination: Nighttime lighting plans to highlight building volumes and textures.
- Fixture Placement: Strategic positioning of up-lighters and profile lights for visual impact.
Implementation Control
- Mock-up Review: Supervision of on-site material mock-ups to finalize textures and finishes before mass application.
About Commercial & Hospitality Architecture
We see every project as a fresh story to tell—whether it's a wild retreat or a city café, our work always starts with listening. The site, your brand, the people who'll use the space, all of it sets the stage. We’re big on blending art and engineering, so the end result feels like it naturally belongs where it lands.
How We Design
- Spaces aren’t just functional, they’re journeys. We look for ways to weave your brand’s identity and roots into the walls, materials, and even the light.
- Function first, always. If the design doesn’t work in daily life, it’s back to the drawing board.
- We love experimenting—sometimes that means mixing old-school craft with new techniques, making sure things last and stay sustainable.
- Cost and sustainability go together for us. We try to make every resource count, so you get that luxury feel without waste.
Our Work in Action
- For eco-sensitive resort architecture, we like to keep things simple and low-impact. Think rammed earth, timber, and stone—materials that feel like they were meant to be there.
- In city spaces, we’re all about brand-driven commercial interiors with a twist. Color-coded zones, custom lighting, clever use of tight spaces—these become part of your brand’s vibe.
- Urban restaurant spatial planning isn’t just about seating; it’s about crafting an experience from the moment someone walks in.
Our goal? To create spaces that just feel right—places that inspire, tell your story, and make a mark without shouting for attention.

My Story
We’re Surbhi and Deepanshu, and SIAN Architects is just us chasing ideas, mixing old-school tricks with new ones. A building, for us, isn’t only walls - it’s a chat between land, stone, and the people inside. Sometimes we’re playing with Jaisalmer stone and jaggery, sometimes printing Ranthambore party scenes on wood. Magazines and events? Cool, but we’re happiest when a garden grows in a home we helped shape. That’s the real story.
My Work
What We Do - We design context-sensitive architecture, heritage home renovation, wildlife retreats, hospitality interiors, and bespoke landscape design.
We Start With the Land - Every project begins with listening to the site, letting the surroundings guide the design. Architecture follows nature’s rhythm.
Materials That Hold Memory - We use everything from thatch and stone to CNC panels, picking materials that feel personal and carry stories.
Homes for Real Living - We love clients who want homes full of laughter, layered stories, and spaces that feel truly lived-in.
