Sunday Brunch: An Unhurried Affair
Sundays at Plats are meant to be slow. We open our kitchen for an à la carte menu that travels from the streets of Vietnam to the comfort of a classic steak frites. No rushing, just flavors that make you want to linger.
Inspired by my travels in Vietnam, our Bánh Mì is all about harmony. A crispy baguette is filled with freshly grilled pork patties, pickled vegetables, and fresh herbs. It's available exclusively on our limited edition brunch menu.
My take on Steak and Frites for a lazy Sunday brunch. Char-grilled steak is served with a classic béarnaise sauce and house-made truffle potato crisps.
A highlight from our brunch menu: the Seafood Nam Jim Salad. Tender poached seafood rests in a silky corn and coconut panna cotta, topped with a crunchy puffed rice granola. A dish inspired by my travels to Thailand.
A symphony of the sea. Our Seafood Nam Jim Salad is a balance of tender seafood, smooth corn and coconut panna cotta, and the crispness of puffed rice granola. A star of our brunch menu.
A popular sharing plate from our brunch menu. This is our avocado and chili flatbread, a simple yet delicious starter to share with the table.
A brunch dish for those who like to linger. Our version of steak and frites, with tender steak slices and a mountain of crispy potato chips.
An announcement for our new brunch edit, featuring our Tropical Pavlova. Join us on Sundays for a meal that is subtle, fresh, and quietly exquisite.
A lesson in balance from the streets of Vietnam. This video shows the inspiration behind our Bánh Mì, a mother-son duo running a small stall, crafting the perfect sandwich.
The foundation of a great Bánh Mì is the bread. Freshly baked baguettes, with a thin, crisp crust and a soft interior, waiting to be filled.
More inspiration from Vietnam, showing the grilling of the pork patties and the quick, expert assembly of the Bánh Mì.
About Sunday Brunch: An Unhurried Affair
We do not do buffet lines or rushed service. Everything on our Sunday menu is à la carte and made to order, from the charcoal-grilled pork in our Bánh Mì to the fresh Seafood Nam Jim. It is an unhurried, intentional way to spend your afternoon.
Why Sunday? Because it is the only day that allows for a meal that actually unfolds. At Plats, our Sunday brunch is not about volume; it is about the specific cravings we have picked up on our travels and the ingredients we are excited about right now.
You will find our kitchen dancing to a different rhythm on Sundays. We might be plating a Bánh Mì inspired by a small street-side eatery we found in Vietnam, complete with that specific thin, crisp baguette crust and charcoal-grilled pork, or a Seafood Nam Jim Salad that balances the acidity of Thai lime with the silky richness of coconut panna cotta.
We keep the menu à la carte because you should not have to eat what everyone else is eating. You pick what calls to you. Maybe it is our take on Steak and Frites with house-made truffle crisps, or something fresh from our dessert section like the Tropical Pavlova. Pair it with a glass of wine from our cellar or a cocktail mixed with the same attention we give our food.
It is quiet, it is thoughtful, and it is served in the warm, unfussy comfort of our Malviya Nagar space. Just good company, a drink in hand, and a meal that does not demand you check your watch.
