The Teacher's Path: Our Daily Yoga Practice
Yoga is not just what we teach, it is our daily abhyasa or steady effort. Here is a glimpse into our personal practice and the discipline that forms the foundation of our therapeutic work.
A collage of my personal practice, from advanced asanas like Bakasana (Crow Pose) and Sirsasana (Headstand) by the Ganga to moments of quiet reflection. Steady effort is the very heart of the yoga journey.
About The Teacher's Path: My Practice
Students often ask if we practice what we teach. The images here show our personal moments, from flows by the river to silent reflection. This is not for show. It is this constant self-practice that allows us to understand your body's limitations and help you modify postures when you are dealing with chronic pain or stiffness. We know the struggle because we live it too.
For us, yoga is not a static exercise. It is a journey of the self, through the self, to the self. When we perform asanas like Bakasana or Sirsasana, we are doing more than building strength; we are testing our own limits so we can guide you through yours.
Why Personal Practice Matters
Many instructors view teaching as a job. At Panchsheel Yoga Therapy, we see it as an extension of our own sadhana (practice). Because we maintain a rigorous personal routine, we have a deep, practical understanding of how Hatha and Ashtanga flows impact the nervous system and the musculoskeletal structure.
If you come to our Shakarpur studio with back pain or sciatica, you are not receiving advice from a manual. You are receiving guidance from teachers who use their own daily practice to troubleshoot and adapt. We know which adjustments work for the lower back and which breathing techniques, like Bhramari, actually help calm the mind before sleep.
Rooted in Tradition
Our philosophy is simple: 'Yoga hi jeevan ka ek aadhaar hai' (Yoga is the foundation of life). Whether we are training future teachers in our 200-hour YTTC courses or working one-on-one with a student recovering from injury, our approach remains traditional. We focus on:
- Abhyasa: Consistency in your mat time.
- Shatkarma: Traditional cleansing techniques for detoxification.
- Therapeutic Focus: Modifying asanas to address lifestyle issues like PCOD, thyroid, and diabetes.
We invite you to join us on this path. Whether you are a beginner looking to find your balance or someone seeking relief from chronic discomfort, our studio is a space where we grow together.
