Advanced Swimming Technique & Dive Workshops
Ready to shave seconds off your time? Whether it's perfecting that racing dive, mastering a flip turn, or refining your freestyle stroke, our technical clinics get you to the next level.
Here's a look at the diving progressions from our workshop. We start with safe vertical jumps on land and move to kneeling dives, crouch dives, and finally, full racing dives off the blocks. Safety and proper form are always our first priority.
Part one of our popular Dive and Flip Turn workshop! We started with some dry-land tumbling to get used to the motion, then took it to the water with somersaults and drills to master the freestyle and backstroke flip turns.
Look at the excitement on our adult swimmers' faces as they learn how to do a flip turn! It's a skill that makes you feel like a pro, and with the right drills, it's something anyone can master.
Even our little sharks are learning to dive into the deep end! It can be scary, but our coaches are right there to guide them. Here you can see our advanced and pre-competitive kids practicing their dives from the pool deck and starting blocks.
Perfecting the backstroke start takes practice. Here, one of our competitive swimmers, Husena, works with our coaches to fine-tune her dive technique for the upcoming State Championships. Every detail counts!
Let's talk about freestyle breathing. A common mistake is not rotating your body enough. In this video, we demonstrate how your hips and shoulders should rotate to allow you to get a clean breath without lifting your head.
Here is a detailed tutorial on how to master your freestyle side breathing. I break down the head position, timing, and body rotation needed to get it right. This is one of the toughest skills, but practice makes perfect!
About this collection
Most swimmers hit a plateau because they lose momentum at the walls or upon entry. Our workshops focus on the physics of the 'Grab Start' and the somersault mechanics of the flip turn, so you aren't just swimming harder—you're moving through the water with real efficiency.
Technique is where the magic happens. Whether you are training for a triathlon or just want to feel more at home in the water, these workshops break down complex skills into simple, repeatable drills. We host these intensive clinics at our premium locations like the Nalapad Academy and the 50m Olympic pool at BCU, providing the space you need to focus on your form.
What We Cover
- Diving & Starts: We move from safe vertical jumps on the deck to kneeling and crouch dives, eventually mastering the racing dive off blocks. We emphasize locking your head and hands to safeguard your spine.
- Flip Turns: Don't just swim the length—learn to turn. We use dry-land tumbling drills to build muscle memory before taking the somersaults into the pool for freestyle and backstroke wall approaches.
- Stroke Correction: From freestyle side-breathing that keeps you streamlined, to the rhythm of the butterfly, our coaches provide 1-on-1 feedback on your body rotation, head position, and timing.
Why These Workshops Work
These sessions are distinct from our regular batches because they are laser-focused on specific skills. You aren't just doing laps; you are deconstructing your stroke with input from our Tier-1 coaching staff. Safety is our non-negotiable priority, so all high-intensity drills are conducted with strictly controlled student-to-coach ratios. By the time you finish a workshop, you will have a clear set of drills you can take to your regular practice sessions to keep improving. If you have been doing the same laps for months without seeing your speed change, this is where you start to see a difference.
