Serious about your stroke? Join us at the 50-meter Olympic pool at Bengaluru City University, designed specifically for endurance training and lap swimming.

Here is a look at our magnificent 50-meter pool at Basecamp, Bengaluru City University. It's the perfect facility for advanced swimmers, triathletes, and anyone serious about their endurance swim training in a deep water environment.

We are so excited about our facility at the Ray Center in Wilson Garden. This 50-meter Olympic-sized pool is another fantastic option for intermediate and advanced swimmers to work on their endurance and skills.

This is the kind of morning that makes you fall in love with swimming all over again. A beautiful sunrise over the pool at our Domlur location, with swimmers already getting their laps in.

Even the birds seem to enjoy the evening atmosphere at our Nalapad Academy pool. This was a spooky and beautiful sight on Halloween as our swimmers practiced their dives.

About this collection

Because this pool is a consistent 7 feet deep throughout, it is strictly for swimmers who are fully comfortable in deep water. We don't have a shallow end here, so you need to be able to swim your laps continuously without needing to stand up. If you are a triathlete, an open-water swimmer, or simply someone who treats their swim workout like a gym session, this is the environment you have been looking for.

Why We Built This for Serious Swimmers

I’ve spent a lifetime in the water, and I know that when you are in the middle of an endurance set, the last thing you want is to dodge toddlers or splash around in the shallow end. That is exactly why I set up Basecamp at BCU. This is a 10-lane, 50-meter Olympic-sized facility where the only goal is to swim.

Practical Details for Your Training

  • Deep Water: The entire pool is 7 feet deep. This is perfect for building confidence if you are training for open water swims or triathlons.
  • Circle Swimming: Because we have many regulars, we enforce strict circle swimming etiquette. It keeps the lanes moving and ensures everyone gets their workout in without bumping into each other.
  • Access: We keep it simple. You can drop in for a single day, grab a weekly pass, or commit to a monthly subscription. We have morning and evening slots, so you can fit your training around your work or family time.
  • Convenience: We have gender-segregated changing rooms, showers, and plenty of parking at the university grounds, which is a massive plus when you're rushing to get to work after a morning session.

A Quick Bit of Gyaan

Many people ask me if swimming in deep water is harder. Honestly, the water doesn't know how deep it is, but your brain does. The first few times might feel intimidating, but once you realize you can't touch the bottom, your stroke actually starts to smooth out because you stop relying on standing up to catch your breath. You become more efficient. If you are ready to stop 'testing' the water and start actually swimming, I will see you in the pool.
