Themed Birthday Cakes and Dessert Tables
I turn your birthday story into edible art, using French techniques and a bit of architectural precision to make sure every detail, from the ferris wheel to the fondant flamingo, is perfect.
A close-up of the carnival cake's centerpiece, a hand-painted, edible ferris wheel. My background in architecture means I get obsessed with creating these structural, detailed elements that make a cake truly special.
This is what a first birthday dream looks like. I designed this entire carnival-themed dessert table for little Dhitya, featuring a multi-tiered centerpiece cake with a ferris wheel and carousel, surrounded by custom cupcakes, macarons, and cakesicles.
The carnival dessert table included a vibrant assortment of treats, like these colourful handcrafted macarons and mini donuts, all designed to match the party's pastel pink and teal colour scheme.
Every detail matters. For this first birthday, I created custom cupcakes with edible "1" toppers, ensuring even the smallest desserts fit the grand carnival theme.
To complete the carnival experience, I made these fun cakesicles designed to look like ice cream cones and popsicles, decorated with pastel colours and sprinkles. They were a huge hit with the kids.
These tropical-themed cakesicles were part of the dessert table for Aadya's birthday. I handcrafted little flamingos and pineapple tops to sit on each one, tying the whole theme together.
The tropical dessert spread also included these delicious chocolate cupcakes, topped with pineapple-leaf and pink flamingo-inspired frosting to match the main cake.
About this collection
Because I come from an architecture background, I don’t just bake—I build. If you look at the carnival-themed cake in my gallery, that ferris wheel isn’t just a decoration, it is a structural element designed to stay stable while being completely edible. Whether you want a whimsical jungle scene or a minimalist aesthetic, I ensure the design remains sound and the flavour stays balanced from the first slice to the last.
Every birthday is a story, and my job is to translate those memories into sugar and flour. When you come to me with a theme, we don't just pick a flavour. We look at the vibe of the party.
The Dessert Table Concept
I prefer designing a full experience rather than just a standalone cake. This means coordinating your centerpiece cake with custom macarons, cupcakes, and cakesicles that follow the same colour palette and motif. If we are doing a tropical birthday, the cupcakes might feature hand-sculpted flamingos, while the macarons get a splash of vibrant, theme-matched hues.
The Process
- Consultation: We talk about what the birthday person loves. Is it a specific cartoon, a hobby like a spa day, or a general theme like a carnival?
- Design: I sketch the structure to ensure the fondant art, like the edible ferris wheels or character figurines, is safe and stable.
- Flavours: We match the taste to the theme. While I offer classic French sponge recipes, I love experimenting with fillings—think salted caramel or house-made fruit compotes—that complement the fun aesthetic.
I handle everything from first birthdays to milestone celebrations across Bangalore. Since every detail, from the edible toppers to the Belgian chocolate tempering, is done by hand in my kitchen, I recommend reaching out a few weeks in advance to ensure I can give your party the time it needs.
