About Literary Gatherings & Book Club Events
Why This Space Exists
I opened Urban Solace to give stories, poetry, and art a home—not just a cafe, but a place where creativity can breathe easy. Over time, it’s become a hub for anyone who feels at home around books, poems, and genuine conversations. The best part for me? Seeing people leave lighter than they came in.
Book Mornings: Eat a Book for Breakfast
Every second Sunday, the Book Lovers’ Club takes over the space. The vibe is chill, more like friends swapping thoughts than some formal book discussion morning. Sometimes, an author drops by for a chat or to sign a copy. Anyone who loves books is welcome—no gatekeeping, no entry fee, just show up and settle in.
Poetry Nights: Tuesdays with the Bard
Tuesday evenings are about poetry, pure and simple. We’ve kept this going for over 15 years—yeah, it even made it into the Limca Book of Records. One guest poet, then the mic opens up for anyone with a verse to share. If you’ve got poetry in you, or just want to listen, this is the place. There’s a cover charge, but you get it back as food or chai.
More Than Just Books
We throw in other cool stuff too—sometimes a creative writing therapy workshop, or an art show that mixes words with paint. If you’re looking for literary cafe events or just want a break from the usual, you’ll probably find your corner here.
The Feel
Bangalore isn’t just a city, it’s a mood, and I try to bring that same feeling into everything we do at Urban Solace. Come through if you want to feel it for yourself.

My Story
15 years back, Urban Solace was just a wild dream—now, it’s kinda like a second home for so many. We built this spot in Bangalore for artists, poets, comedians, thinkers, bookworms—basically, anyone who needs a place to be real. Our Tuesdays with the Bard poetry thing, it’s legendary, but honestly? The best bits are the nervous poets, the crazy laughter, the quiet book chats. This place has a soul ‘cause of you all. Welcome home, yaara.
