About Creative Writing Workshops
Where It All Starts
I’ll be honest - the real magic? It’s the people. We’ve built a community writing group that feels more like family than anything else. I love watching new folks come in, sometimes shy, sometimes skeptical, and leave with way more confidence and self-awareness. We joke about being a cult, but it’s really all about support, laughter, and stories that matter.
The BWW Classic: Foundation Course
If you’ve got a story stuck inside you or just want to get unstuck, this is the place to jump in. The BWW Classic is pretty intensive - weekend meetups, lots of writing, group critiquing, and we don’t sugarcoat feedback. You’ll learn to read like a writer, find your unique voice, and hammer out that project you’ve been putting off. Online creative writing class or in-person, you’ll have to work, but it’s worth it.
Explore More: Specialized Workshops
- Got poet vibes? The poetry writing sessions help you find rhythm and voice, and we even host a proper graduation event for our "Jasmins".
- Short story workshop dives deep into classics, with real talk on feminism, relationships, and the messy stuff. Plus, there’s an annual Short Story Award for the heart-driven writers.
- We also geek out over plays and translations, bringing Indian languages into the mix.
Next Level: For the Grads
If you’re sticking around, we go full psychoanalysis mode - character-building, dynamics, power plays. Alumni batches get quirky names and real bonds that last.
The Vibe
No lectures here. It’s group chats, exercises, and honest critique. Once you’re in, you’re one of us - Pudus, Capybaras, Sugargliders - pick your tribe, make some real friends, and grow together.

My Story
We’re Bangalore Writers Workshop, but honestly, most of us just call it BWW. Started off in coffee shops, now we’re this wild bunch of accidental writers, poets, and storytellers. You walk in a stranger, maybe by mistake, and walk out with a tribe. We’ve had paav bhaji picnics, Cubbon Park graduations, and writing retreats that felt like family. It’s not just about the words – it’s about finding your people, cheering every win, and growing together. That’s why we do this.
My Work
Workshops & Courses - We run creative writing workshops Bangalore folks love - short stories, poetry, play reading, translation, and special psychology-meets-writing courses.
Hands-on Workshop Model - No boring lectures. We do critique, role-play, writing activities, and deep talks. Feels more like therapy sometimes.
Finish What You Start - We help you stop being a serial first drafter. The group keeps you accountable till your story or poem is done.
Stories with Heart - We push for openness and empathy, helping you build dynamic characters and work with soul.
Writing Community Support - You’ll meet other writers, become a better reader, and maybe find your writing family.
