Authentic Homemade Punjabi Panjiri
Slow-roasted besan, pure ghee, and a heavy dose of nuts and seeds. This is the traditional, jaggery-based Panjiri I grew up eating, made fresh daily in our kitchen by my Maa.
Watch my maa make her special Punjabi Panjiri right in our kitchen. We use our family's traditional recipe, which means no wheat flour or white sugar. It's made with slow-roasted besan, sweetened with pure gur, and packed with nuts and seeds for that perfect homemade taste and crunch. This is the real 'ghar ka swaad' you've been missing.
About Featured
Most store-bought Panjiri is full of flour and white sugar, which can leave you feeling heavy. My Maa makes this differently: we use besan roasted in pure ghee and sweeten it only with jaggery. It gives you that perfect, nutty crunch without the sugar crash, and the saunth adds a warmth that feels just like winter at home.
Our Process: From Kitchen to Jar
We stick to the traditional Punjabi method. There are no shortcuts or heavy machinery here. Every batch starts with slow-roasting the besan in desi ghee until it turns golden brown and releases that deep, nutty aroma. This process takes time, but it is the only way to get the right texture.
Why We Skip Refined Sugar
We use organic jaggery for sweetness. It does not just add a rich, molasses-like flavour that pairs perfectly with the earthiness of the besan, but it also provides a source of iron. Because we avoid refined sugar, our Panjiri is a healthier energy booster.
Loaded With Nutrition
Each jar is packed with roughly 40% premium dry fruits by weight. We add whole almonds, cashews, crispy makhanas, and melon seeds to ensure every spoonful has a crunch. This is not just a sweet treat; it is dense, high-energy food.
- For New Mothers: We have grown up seeing this given to new mothers as a staple for post-delivery recovery and strength.
- For Winter Immunity: The addition of ginger powder (saunth) provides natural warmth, making it the perfect snack to keep your energy up during the colder months.
Since we make this in small, home-based batches, we do not use any preservatives. Keep it in the glass jar we ship it in, and it stays fresh for up to 3 months.
