When I take on an editorial project, I treat it as a visual story. It is not just about the clothes; it is about the intersection of makeup, lighting, and the model's energy. I am involved from the concept stage, which helps me ensure that the accessories and garments enhance the overall mood rather than distract from it.
The Creative Process
- Concept Development: We start by defining the theme. Whether it is a moody, dark-themed shoot or a vibrant, modern editorial, I build the mood board that guides the team.
- Sourcing and Sizing: I handle the logistics of sourcing garments and accessories from designers. My job is to ensure the pieces fit the model and the aesthetic, preventing any wardrobe malfunctions on set.
- On-Set Direction: Styling is a high-energy environment. I provide on-site supervision for up to 10 hours, handling draping, fashion tape application, and steam care to keep everything pristine. I work alongside the photographer and the makeup artist to keep the creative vision consistent.
