When styling for a commercial or a celebrity shoot, the wardrobe is a core part of the character development and brand narrative. Whether I am suiting up an actor like Ronit Bose Roy for a campaign or curating a relaxed look for a brand film, my focus is always on how the clothing interacts with the script, the art direction, and the camera.
Styling for commercial projects involves much more than just picking out outfits. It requires a deep understanding of the project's visual identity, lighting constraints, and the director's specific needs. When working with clients like The Man Company or actors like Ronit Bose Roy, I treat the wardrobe as a part of the storytelling process.
My process begins with a thorough deep dive into the script or the brand guidelines. I look for pieces that do not just look good in isolation but work on screen. I focus on textures that read well on camera, silhouettes that fit the character's background, and color palettes that complement the art direction. This is a highly collaborative effort, and I work hand-in-hand with the production team, art directors, and the talent to ensure there are no visual clashes.
On set, my job is to manage the wardrobe continuity, handle quick changes, and ensure the clothes fit perfectly for every take. This involves everything from using fashion tape and clips to managing garment steamers between shots. For celebrity appearances, the focus shifts toward maintaining their personal brand persona while ensuring they feel comfortable and confident under the spotlight. Whether it is an ad film or a press event in Mumbai, my goal is to deliver a look that feels authentic, professional, and entirely cohesive with your creative vision.
