I write music to capture moments that words cannot hold. From the travel-inspired sounds of Europe to heartfelt tributes, discover the stories behind my original sitar compositions.

The official cover for my album "European Spring." This collection of music was born from my travels across Europe, with each track capturing the mood and memory of a specific place, from Amsterdam to Vienna.

A preview of "Tilak Kamod Under Leiden Skies," a track from my "European Spring" album. This piece features a traditional raga performed with a sense of place, inspired by the beautiful city of Leiden.

This is "Amsterdam Afterglow - Bihag," another track from the "European Spring" album. It captures the feeling of a peaceful evening in Amsterdam, blending the romantic mood of Raag Bihag with the city's serene atmosphere.

"Anar Anar Echoes from Kabul" is a piece that connects different cultures through music. Featured on my "European Spring" album, it reinterprets a traditional Afghan melody on the sitar.

This clip is from "Rotterdam Shadows - Malkauns," a more intense and meditative track from the album. It explores the deep, introspective mood of Raag Malkauns, inspired by the city of Rotterdam.

"Gawati in Vienna" is another original piece from my European collection. It reflects the grandeur and artistic spirit of Vienna, translated through the strings of my sitar.

The promotional cover for my single "Roshan." This track is a heartfelt tribute to my late uncle, Roshan Ali Niazi, who was a guiding light in my musical journey. The music embodies his spirit and influence on me.

This image explains the "Why" behind my track "Roshan." From childhood, I was deeply influenced by my uncle and wanted to follow in his footsteps. This track is my way of honoring his memory.

A short, atmospheric teaser for my single "Roshan." The visuals and music aim to create a feeling of light and illumination, reflecting the meaning of the name and the spirit of my tribute.

About Original Music & Albums

My original compositions are rarely just about the notes. They are musical diaries, like 'European Spring' which captures the quiet atmosphere of Amsterdam and Vienna, or 'Roshan', a tribute that channels the warmth and memory of my late uncle. Each track is a personal conversation between my sitar and the listener.

When I am not performing live, I am in the studio chasing a specific feeling. My album 'European Spring' was born on the road. Tracks like 'Tilak Kamod Under Leiden Skies' and 'Rotterdam Shadows' are not just ragas; they are my attempt to map the moods of these cities onto the strings. Creating these pieces felt like painting with sound, trying to translate the chill of a European morning into the language of the sitar.

Collaborating is another way I find new textures. With 'Prasama', I wanted to see how the metallic resonance of the handpan would dance with my sitar. It became a meditative experiment that taught me a lot about patience in music. Then there is 'Strings of Serenity', a project with sarod player Pratik Shrivastava that was all about finding peace amidst the daily rush. We recorded that by the sea, and you can hear the expanse in the music.

Every original piece I release is part of a larger, ongoing search for a modern sound that respects my classical roots. I do not just want to play; I want to tell you where I have been and what I have felt while getting there. If you enjoy these compositions and want to hear more or talk about a performance, I am always happy to connect.

I believe every note I play should feel like a prayer. My music bridges the gap between old-school classical ragas and the rhythms of the world, whether I am playing for a small gathering or a festival stage.
