About Behind the Music: Studio Sessions & Raag Explorations
My creative process is built upon 'riyaz'—the dedicated hours spent exploring the nuances of a Raag before it ever reaches a stage. These studio sessions capture that raw development, showing how I weave together the melodic complexity of the sitar with the rhythmic structures required for a live audience.
The sitar is a bridge between the meditative and the technical. In my Delhi studio, I spend hours refining the 'Alaap' (introductory section) and the 'Gat' (rhythmic composition) to ensure that every performance, whether it is a quiet house concert or a large corporate stage, remains authentic.
My Approach to Composition
I believe the depth of a performance comes from the time spent in practice. In these clips, you can see me exploring various Raags like Yaman and Malkauns, as well as experimenting with lofi and fusion covers. This practice informs how I tailor my sets for your events:
- For Classical Recitals: I focus on the structural integrity of the Raag, maintaining the purity of tradition.
- For Fusion & Ambient Events: I adapt these same technical skills to blend with electronica or Bollywood melodies, ensuring the music remains sophisticated but engaging.
Bringing This Music to Your Event
Whether you are planning a traditional baithak or a modern fusion night, the foundation of my music is the same discipline you see in these sessions. I do not just play music; I curate a soundscape based on the mood of your gathering. I am available for performances across Delhi-NCR and travel throughout India for events. If you are looking for an artist who understands the importance of both tradition and contemporary needs, let us discuss how I can bring the sitar to your occasion.
