About World Music & Fusion Concerts
Music as Prayer
For me, music is not just performance - it's my prayer, my offering. I try to bring out bhakti (devotion) in every note, mixing old-school soul with modern energy. The core? Melody, emotion, and a bit of my own crazy twist.
What My Concerts Feel Like
My shows are like a musical rollercoaster. I love fusing Indian classical with jazz, blues, rock, pop, and even hip-hop. Sometimes you’ll catch tabla and sitar trading jokes with drums and bass, sometimes it’s pure meditative ragas. I keep things moving - one moment it’s soulful, next it’s full-on grooving.
- Instruments: Sitar, tabla, sarod, flute, drums, bass, electric guitar, violin
- Vibe: Emotional, unexpected, a mix of high-energy and calm
Signature Sounds & Surprises
I’m hooked on creating original music, like "Midnight In Delhi" (Indian classical fusion ensemble) and "Inherited" - a raga-based rock fusion track that means a lot to me. You might also hear me spin out layered sitar covers of Western hits, from Imagine Dragons to Mozart. Never know what’s coming next.
On Stages Worldwide
My journey has taken this East-West musical crossover everywhere - Varanasi to Vienna. Festival crowds in Amsterdam, packed halls in Nairobi, intimate gatherings in Kolkata. It’s always about connecting through the universal language of music, no matter where I play.

My Story
Music's in my blood. I grew up playing my dad’s tunes at parties where folks barely listened, but I always felt it. Years later, I got to play that same piece on stage—this time, people really heard it. Ustad Z, Zakir Hussain, shaped my path. Waiting for Guru Purnima just to see him, pure magic. Now, whether I’m in Delhi or by Lake Geneva, my sitar’s always with me. Sometimes it’s Mozart, sometimes a raga—music follows me everywhere.
My Work
Sitar & Vocal Performances - I do solo and group shows, from Indian classical sitar gigs to fusion sitar jazz, bhakti sangeet, and private events.
Signature Style - My thing? Mixing tradition with blues, jazz, and a bit of rock. I call it the Mehtab Ali Niazi Experience.
Ensemble Magic - I jam with tabla, violin, drums, and more. Every show’s a fresh ensemble music experience.
For the Love of Music - I play for anyone who wants to feel—quiet morning ragas, high-energy contemporary raga fusion, or temple bhakti.
