About Indian Classical & Devotional Concerts
Music as Prayer
For me, every concert is more than just a show - it’s a heartfelt offering. Whether I’m playing in a packed festival or at someone’s home, my goal is always the same: to create a soulful, healing space where music feels like a living prayer.
Rooted in Tradition, Open to Now
I belong to a family of musicians, and that keeps my music rooted in tradition. My classical recitals include Hindustani raga performances like Raag Bihag or Bhairavi, but I love adding my own twist too – sometimes blending ragas or playing my own modern compositions. Bhakti sangeet events are special to me; here, I perform old qawwalis, tributes, and devotional songs, creating that deep spiritual vibe you only get from live music.
Every Concert Feels Different
I keep things flexible - sometimes it’s a sitar and tabla duet (that jugalbandi always hits different), sometimes I go solo on sitar or vocals, and for bigger events, we bring in more musicians. The people on stage with me are often friends, not just colleagues, and that shows up in the energy.
Time & Mood Matter
Indian music is tied to time and mood. I’ve played serene morning ragas at sunrise concerts like Diwali Pahat, and winding-down evening ragas that feel just right after sunset. The vibe shifts, but the aim is always to connect.
If you’re looking for something real, spiritual, and a little bit unpredictable - that’s what I bring to every performance.

My Story
Music's in my blood. I grew up playing my dad’s tunes at parties where folks barely listened, but I always felt it. Years later, I got to play that same piece on stage—this time, people really heard it. Ustad Z, Zakir Hussain, shaped my path. Waiting for Guru Purnima just to see him, pure magic. Now, whether I’m in Delhi or by Lake Geneva, my sitar’s always with me. Sometimes it’s Mozart, sometimes a raga—music follows me everywhere.
My Work
Sitar & Vocal Performances - I do solo and group shows, from Indian classical sitar gigs to fusion sitar jazz, bhakti sangeet, and private events.
Signature Style - My thing? Mixing tradition with blues, jazz, and a bit of rock. I call it the Mehtab Ali Niazi Experience.
Ensemble Magic - I jam with tabla, violin, drums, and more. Every show’s a fresh ensemble music experience.
For the Love of Music - I play for anyone who wants to feel—quiet morning ragas, high-energy contemporary raga fusion, or temple bhakti.
