About Live Concerts: India & Abroad
Every performance I curate is a balance between classical precision and the unique energy of the space, whether it is a historic church or a modern hall. I always prioritize a dedicated sound check 60 minutes before we begin, using my studio-grade Rikhi Ram sitar to ensure the nuances of every raga are captured perfectly for your audience.
My concert experience is built on a foundation of seven generations of musical tradition, brought into the present day through performances that connect across borders. From playing Raag Bihag under the vaulted ceilings of Amsterdam’s Amstelkerk to honoring the legacy of Ustad Zakir Hussain at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, I treat every stage as a space for devotion and connection.
When you book a concert with me, you are not just getting a performance, you are getting a tailored musical narrative. My setups range from pure Hindustani classical sitar and tabla jugalbandi to high-energy fusion collectives featuring flute, drums, and keys. I adapt my repertoire, be it morning ragas for a sunrise concert or soulful evening compositions, to suit the specific mood and timing of your event.
Technically, I am meticulous about sound. An authentic Indian classical recital demands acoustic clarity, which is why I work closely with sound engineers to manage the mix of my acoustic sitar with accompanying instruments. Whether it is a private corporate gala in Mumbai or a public festival in Nairobi, I bring the same level of preparation and reverence to the music.
I am comfortable performing as a solo artist or as part of a larger ensemble. If you are planning an event that requires a touch of cultural elegance and deep, soulful resonance, I would be happy to discuss how we can bring the sitar to your stage.
