About Live on Stage
The energy of a live show is all about that connection between the performer and the audience. Whether we are planning an unplugged classical setup or a fusion band gig, I work closely with your sound engineers beforehand to ensure the sitar resonates perfectly with the room acoustics, keeping the sound warm and present rather than thin.
For events, the sitar is often seen as a background instrument, but I approach it differently. I adapt my set to the mood you want to create. For a corporate dinner or a sophisticated reception, I stick to melodious, steady ragas that provide a soothing backdrop without overpowering conversations. For fusion events, I pick up the tempo, blending traditional meend and taankari with rhythmic, modern beats that get the crowd moving.
