Traditional Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation Sessions
True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. I guide you through traditional asana, breathwork, and meditation, ensuring you feel at ease regardless of your experience level.
A yoga space prepared for a session, with mats and bolsters ready. The beauty of yoga is that it is for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. It is a practice that calms the mind and strengthens the body.
This diagram illustrates the five Vayus, or movements of Prana (life energy) in the body. Understanding concepts like pranayama (breath control) helps strengthen the connection between your body and mind, promoting relaxation and mindfulness.
A beautiful sunrise, the ideal time to practice Surya Namaskar, or Sun Salutation. This sequence of 12 asanas is designed to channel the energy of the sun into the body, awakening our inner vitality for the day ahead.
Seated in a simple cross-legged position for meditation. The goal is not to force the mind silent, but to gently settle into yourself using the breath as an anchor. This is a fundamental practice for inner peace.
A seated posture with arms raised, opening the heart and chest. This simple movement helps to release tension and prepare the body for deeper breathing and meditation, connecting the physical with the energetic.
About The Practice: Asana, Pranayama & Meditation
Many students tell me the hardest part of meditation is the noise inside their own minds. In our sessions, we start with Nadi Shuddhi (alternate nostril breathing) to physically calm that mental chatter before attempting any stillness. You do not need to be flexible or have a quiet mind to start; we focus entirely on the breath to settle you in.
My Approach to Yoga
I teach traditional Indian yoga where the goal is not to perform perfect, rigid poses, but to learn how to move from a state of restlessness to restfulness. My sessions are slow, gentle, and accessible. You will not find intense gym-style workouts here. Instead, we use your natural rhythm to build resilience.
Core Pillars of Our Practice
- Asana (Physical Postures): We incorporate Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) as a foundational practice. These 12 steps are designed to channel energy and wake up the body, but I encourage you to move at your own speed rather than forcing your body into a shape that feels uncomfortable.
- Pranayama (Breathwork): This is the heart of my teaching. Whether you are struggling with sleep, stress, or just need to reconnect, techniques like Nadi Shuddhi help balance your mind. I teach this as a daily habit, not just a class activity.
- Meditation: We use mantra chanting and breath as an anchor. It is not about forcing your mind to be silent. It is about learning to observe your thoughts like a witness and letting them pass like clouds in the sky.
Who This Is For
My classes are for everyone. Age, fitness level, and flexibility do not matter. Whether you have never touched a yoga mat or you have been practicing for years, the path is the same: connecting with the elements—earth, water, and air—to find your own silent corner, whether that is in a mountain retreat or in your living room in Bengaluru.
