Spiritual Yoga Retreats in the Himalayas
Join me in Rishikesh and the Himalayan foothills to reconnect with your breath. These retreats are a return to the source of yoga, focusing on traditional practice and the silence of nature.
The sacred Kedarnath Temple illuminated against the Himalayan peaks. Visiting such holy sites is a key part of my Indian retreats. The energy here is ancient and powerful, offering a deep connection to Lord Shiva and the traditions of Hinduism.
A view over Rishikesh, a city renowned as a global center for studying yoga and meditation. Here, we explore temples and ashrams, and practice beside the holy Ganges River, absorbing the spiritual vibrations of this special place.
An infinity pool overlooking the lush green foothills of the Himalayas. Even in moments of relaxation, the connection to nature is ever-present. This is a space for quiet contemplation after a day of practice.
The peaceful garden of an ashram in India. Creating an ashram, or sacred space, within your own life is essential. It can be a place for silence or chanting, free from distraction, where you can focus on your divine connection.
This video, featuring the voice of Kailash Kher, celebrates the deep spirituality of India. The Om flag symbolizes the primordial sound of the universe. My retreats aim to connect you with this mystical power that can heal a fatigued soul.
About Spiritual Journeys in India
These are not luxury holidays. You will stay in simple, twin-sharing ashram or eco-guesthouse rooms. Our days are spent in silence, practicing morning asana by the Ganga, and evening meditation. Expect basic amenities, vegetarian satvik meals, and a focus on inner stillness over external comfort.
True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. When we travel to the Himalayan foothills, we are stripping away the noise of modern existence. You will practice Nadi Shuddhi (alternate nostril breathing) to balance the mind and join me for daily Satsang (spiritual discourse) sessions.
The Practice
We practice outdoor asana with the Sun Salutation as a core element. It is not about perfect poses but how you feel during the movement. Whether you are stiff, fit, or entirely new to yoga, you are welcome.
Practical Details
The accommodation is intentionally modest to help you maintain your meditative state. We provide twin-sharing rooms in verified ashrams. All meals are strictly vegetarian. Because I keep group sizes limited to 10 to 15 participants, I can provide personalized guidance to every student. We also include guided nature walks to river banks and forest clearings to help you ground your energy.
FAQ
Do I need to be flexible? No. My style is gentle and slow. You do not need to be an expert to join.
What should I bring? Bring comfortable clothes for practice, a journal, and an open mind. We provide the rest.
Are these retreats silent? We maintain periods of silence, especially during nature walks, to help you turn your focus inward.
