Pet-Friendly Interior Design for Bengaluru Homes
Your home should be a sanctuary for every family member. We focus on layouts and materials that keep pets comfortable and happy, from slip-resistant flooring to open, breezy spaces.
We were so happy to see our pet-friendly design featured in The Hindu. It’s always a joy to create spaces where every member of the family, including the four-legged ones, feels completely at home.
This sunlit, Spanish-inspired courtyard is the heart of the home. We used patterned cement tiles and filled the space with plants to create a cool, comfortable, and serene spot for the whole family, including Dorai the beagle, to relax.
A peaceful afternoon nap spot. The large windows and passive cooling design ensure the home stays comfortable even during hot summers, perfect for pets and people alike.
The dining area features a large wooden table and cool Kota stone flooring, which is perfect for keeping furry friends comfortable. The space is designed for relaxed, communal living.
About Homes for the Whole Family (Pets Included!)
When designing for pets, we look at the floor first. We frequently install Kota stone because it stays naturally cool for paws and handles daily wear much better than polished tiles. It is a practical, honest choice that means you do not have to stress about scratches or muddy paws, just enjoying your home.
Building a home that works for both humans and pets is about anticipating the daily reality of your space. We avoid fragile surfaces and complex, closed-off corners that trap dust or heat.
Why Natural Flooring Matters
We are big fans of Kota stone and oxide flooring for pet-heavy households. These natural materials are slip-resistant, which helps with mobility for older pets, and they stay cool throughout the Bengaluru summer. Unlike vitrified tiles that scratch or crack under heavy play, stone flooring ages gracefully. It develops a patina that tells the story of your life together.
Design That Breathes
We incorporate open courtyards and large, Spanish-style windows to ensure constant airflow. This passive cooling keeps the indoor temperature comfortable without running air conditioning all day. For your pets, this means they always have a spot to nap that stays temperature-regulated.
Practical Surfaces
In our renovations, like the work we did for the Doggiliciouus founder, we focus on finishes that clean easily. We use lime and mud plasters on walls rather than synthetic paints. These are breathable and non-toxic, making them safer for curious noses and paws. We also prioritize low-maintenance joinery and reclaimed wood furniture that can withstand a bit of rough-and-tumble living. If you are planning a renovation and want a space that feels earthy, calm, and ready for your pets, we would love to help you plan it.
