We don’t just teach you to hit a tennis ball. At Marquis Tennis Academy, I believe in shaping your mindset, not just your backhand. Every session is about more than just tennis - it’s about building discipline, grit, and the kind of confidence that shows both on the court and off.
How I Coach
- I combine pro-level training with a long-term approach. That means you’ll get plenty of time working on the basics (I’m a bit obsessed with tennis footwork training and making sure your technique feels natural).
- Fitness isn’t optional. Expect strength work, agility drills, recovery routines, and all the gear from ladders to bands.
- We talk a lot about the mental side. Tennis mental toughness coaching is part of every session - goal setting, focus drills, and learning to handle pressure.
Programs for Everyone
- Junior tennis development: Little kids start with red balls and small courts, then move up to bigger courts and faster games as they grow.
- Adult beginner tennis lessons and advanced coaching: Whether you’re picking up a racquet for the first time or aiming for league wins, I’ve got you.
- High-performance tennis camps: For the ambitious ones eyeing national and international tournaments, the grind is real - full schedule, tough drills, and lots of support.
Where We Train
Courts are spread across Bangalore - Jakkur, Electronic City, Sampigehalli. Different surfaces, tournament-style setups.

Marquis Tennis Academy
My Story
We're Marquis Tennis Academy, based out of Bangalore. Chris Marquis is our director. We opened on 4 Dec 2023, with Somdev Devvarman and Rutuja Bhosale at the opening. Chris's aim is to build the right environment, mindset and attitude for India's next tennis generation. He also has his own farmhouse in south Goa. It's a personal place too, where his friends and parents spend time.
My Work
Tennis coaching - We coach young beginners through competitive players. We also take private one-on-one sessions.
Junior progression - We use red, orange and green balls, with slower balls and smaller nets for younger beginners.
Movement and contact - We work on stability, contact timing and transfer of force. "Just remember, ground and contact."
Goa camps - Somdev Devvarman and Prajnesh Gunneswaran joined us on court at our April 2025 Goa camp.
