A deep dive into the science, biomechanics, and mental conditioning that drive our results at Marquis Tennis Academy.

Mastering your technique is the key to acing your game. We focus on perfecting form not just for performance, but also to prevent injuries and build a sustainable, long-term career in the sport.

All power comes from the ground. This drill focuses on teaching a young athlete how to use the ground effectively to generate force and timing, a fundamental concept in our coaching philosophy.

Here, I am explaining the biomechanics of a shot, focusing on getting behind the ball to transfer force effectively. This level of technical detail is what separates good players from great ones.

We teach our players to understand the 'why' behind the technique. This discussion is about maintaining a straight racket face at the contact point to ensure control, especially under pressure.

We train our players to be problem solvers on the court. This drill is about preparing for impossible shots, encouraging quick thinking and adaptability to handle any situation in a match.

Honing a skill to perfection takes patience and perfect practice. Here, I am working with a player on the finer points of their racket face at contact and achieving a high finish for better depth and spin.

Learning a new move is a process. This before-and-after shows how we break down a complex movement, focus on the details, and build it back up into a fluid, effective shot.

The "don't spill the water" drill is a creative way to teach stability and mindfulness through a shot. It helps the player feel the correct body position and maintain balance while swinging.

Stability starts from the ground up. Using a BOSU ball, I am working with a young athlete to improve her balance on her contact foot, a critical component for building a strong, consistent game.

About The Coach's Corner: Our Training Method

We do not just teach you to hit a ball. If you come for a session, expect us to analyze your stance and footwork before we even look at your swing. We use specific drills to teach you how to use the ground to generate power, because raw strength matters far less than balance and timing on the court.
