The Yogic Path: Wisdom & Lifestyle Tips
Yoga is a journey of the mind, not just the body. Here I share ancient wisdom from the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and practical Ayurvedic habits to help you integrate wellness into your daily life.
"Yogash chitta vritti nirodhah." Patanjali's second sutra defines the essence of our practice: Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind. This is the foundation of all that we teach.
Here are 5 simple but effective Ayurvedic habits for better daily health, from drinking warm water in the morning to practicing deep breathing. Small habits lead to big changes.
Eating while scrolling or watching TV makes you overeat. This tip on mindful eating encourages you to put your phone aside and actually taste each bite to improve digestion and satisfaction.
This graphic explains one of the most common yoga mistakes: incorrect posture and how to avoid it. My classes focus on building a strong foundation with proper alignment.

About The Yogic Path: Wisdom & Lifestyle Tips
Most people treat yoga as just a workout, but the real magic happens when you carry the principles off the mat. If you constantly feel bloated or tired, the answer is often not a new supplement, but changing how you eat. By simply putting your phone away and chewing slowly, you can improve digestion instantly. This is the kind of practical samadhaan (solution) I focus on with my students to help them find balance in their daily rush.
Why Philosophy Matters
Many students come to me wanting to touch their toes, but I always tell them: 'chhoti-si aadat, lekin badi sehat ki shuruat' (a small habit, but the start of big health). Yoga is not just about flexibility. It is about understanding how your mind works.
💡 Kya karein? (What to do?)
We often look for complex cures for simple problems. Here is how you can use yogic and Ayurvedic wisdom right now:
- Mindful Eating: We eat while scrolling through phones. This disconnects the brain from the stomach, leading to overeating. Put the device away. Taste the food. Your digestion will improve significantly.
- The Patanjali Way: When you feel overwhelmed, remember 'Yogash chitta vritti nirodhah' (Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind). You do not need to sit for hours. Just five minutes of deep breathing can break the cycle of anxiety.
- Ayurvedic Morning Routine: Start your day with warm water on an empty stomach. It helps flush toxins that accumulate overnight. This is a simple, non-negotiable step for long-term health.
Consistent Practice
Consistency is the hardest part. Whether you are following my online sessions or attending classes at my Paschim Vihar studio, the goal is to show up. If you are struggling with a pose or a routine, do not force it. We use props like wheels and blocks to make the practice safe. Remember, yoga is a journey, not a race. Track your progress, stay patient, and let the breath guide you. If you need a more structured approach, my classes focus on these very principles of alignment and mindfulness.
