About Theatre & Storytelling Performances
My space is built around the acoustics of storytelling. With a professional PA system, sound-absorbing panels, and a flexible lighting rig, you do not need a massive crew to get the right mood. Whether it is a stark, minimal setup for a play or an intimate Urdu storytelling night, the technical setup here ensures every word and gesture carries weight.
I designed Lilanoor as a black box theatre where the distance between the performer and the audience is minimal. You get a fully equipped space that functions as a blank canvas, allowing for everything from traditional baithak-style floor seating to a standard theatre configuration. We provide a professional lighting grid with PAR cans and a sound setup tested for vocal clarity. We have a green room and a venue coordinator on site to help with the basics, so you can focus entirely on the performance. We see a lot of interest from theatre groups who want to avoid the impersonal feel of larger, cavernous auditoriums. This is a place for indie performers to experiment with staging, be it physical theatre, poetry readings, or small-scale musical productions. We operate on a clear 5-hour slot model, which covers your setup, soundcheck, and show, keeping the process smooth for small teams. We have the technical foundation required for a successful show, including a projector for visuals and blackout curtains, while keeping the atmosphere relaxed enough that artists feel truly at home.
