Custom Pet Furniture & Durable Cat Trees
Most pet furniture you find online is just flimsy cardboard covered in cheap carpet. I build sturdy, lasting pieces from solid wood and BWP plywood that actually fit your home.
An in-progress custom cat tree with uniquely shaped platforms. This piece was designed to give a cat multiple levels for perching and playing in a compact space.
The finished cat tree, stained and ready for its new home. The design includes different platform shapes and heights to keep things interesting for a curious cat.
Prototyping a cat tree using different materials. Here, I'm comparing the sturdiness of natural Eucalyptus pillars against traditional options and testing pre-laminated plywood for easy cleanup.
About Custom Pet Furniture
I swap out those unstable cardboard tubes found in mass-produced items for solid eucalyptus log pillars wrapped in heavy-duty sisal rope. You get a structure that won't wobble when your pet leaps, plus it's easier to clean and matches your home’s actual aesthetic instead of looking like a fuzzy monolith in the corner.
Why solid wood matters
Most store-bought pet towers are built using particle board and glued-on felt that peels off within weeks. When I build furniture for your pet, I use 19mm Boiling Water Proof (BWP) plywood or solid pine. It’s designed to handle actual weight and heavy clawing.
Customization for your space
Every home has different constraints. Whether you need a cat tree that fits into an awkward apartment corner or a custom-sized dog bed that matches your living room furniture, I can build it. I use 3D SketchUp visualization during the design phase so you can see exactly how the dimensions work before we start cutting.
The finish and the feel
I don’t believe in cheap plastic finishes. All wooden surfaces are sanded to a smooth 220 grit and sealed with water-based Polyurethane (PU) or natural wax. This makes the furniture water-resistant and easy to wipe down. If you have a specific pet behavior to account for—like a cat that loves high perches or a dog that needs a low entry—we can design the platform shapes and heights to accommodate them perfectly.
Kydo
I'm the person behind Kydo, where I turn sawdust into stuff that actually makes sense. I don’t believe in mass-producing plastic pet gear, so I build furniture that respects your space and your pet's need to scratch, climb, and chill.
