Trade your keyboard for a saw. At my Singasandra workshop, I guide you through the process of building your own furniture and decor, whether you are a complete beginner or a design student.

A student in the zone, using a hand plane to smooth a piece of wood. Our workshops are a great escape from the digital world, offering a chance to build something real and tangible.

An interior design student with the desk organizer she designed and built during a one-day experiential workshop.

This student created a multi-level organizer with curved shelves, learning to use a jigsaw to cut complex shapes.

A student holding a unique chair she designed, featuring wavy backrests. Our workshops encourage creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.

This student built a clean, modern box shelf, focusing on precise cuts and strong joinery.

A creatively designed desk caddy with a spot for a cup, built by an interior design student during a hands-on workshop.

This student designed and built a geometric shelf, learning how to make precise angled cuts on the table saw.

A student with her completed project: a three-dimensional letter 'Z' made from solid pinewood.

Design students with the projects they completed in a one-day workshop, including a wooden crate and a floating shoe shelf.

These students collaborated to create a set of interlocking square wall shelves, a project that required careful measurement and teamwork.

About Woodworking Workshops: Your Creations

When you join a session, you are not just watching a demo. You are holding the chisel, operating the saw, and figuring out the joinery yourself. Most students walk in with a rough idea and leave with a finished piece, like a shelf, a desk organizer, or a clock, all built with your own hands using real power tools.

Learn Carpentry, Don't Just Watch

There is a specific satisfaction in creating something tangible. My workshops are designed to break the barrier between having an idea and holding the physical object. Whether you want to build a shelf for that awkward corner in your room or a desk organizer for your workspace, we focus on the process of making.

What You Will Actually Do

  • Hands-on Training: You handle the tools. From the initial measurement to the final sand, you are in control. I will be there to ensure you use the jigsaw, table saw, and hand tools safely.
  • Project Variety: Beginners often start with items like desk caddies or small shelves. If you have a specific design in mind, we can discuss the feasibility during the session.
  • Skill Development: You will learn basic joinery, material selection (BWP plywood, pinewood), and how to finish your wood to make it last.

Who This Is For

  • Beginners: If you have never held a chisel, this is where you start.
  • Design Students: Need to understand how 2D drawings become 3D objects? My studio offers a space to build scale models or functional prototypes before you commit to final production.
  • Weekend Explorers: If you are tired of staring at screens and want to get your hands dirty, this is your escape.

Everything happens at my workshop in Singasandra, Bengaluru. I provide the materials and the machine access. You just need to bring your curiosity and closed-toe shoes. We run sessions on weekends, and I limit group sizes to ensure everyone gets enough time on the tools.

I am the founder of Kydo, where 'Kai' means hand and 'Do' means creating. I started these workshops because I believe there is something special about trading screens for sawdust. I am here to guide you through the craft, whether you are picking up a saw for the first time or testing a specific design project.
