Construction Details
- Materials: Precision fabrication using MDF, Balsa Wood, and Acrylic sheets.
- Methods: Laser cutting and scroll saw work to achieve exact geometries.
- Simulations: Mimicry of fabric textures for interiors and inclusion of rudimentary working mechanisms like folding parts.
Custom Plywood Furniture & Cat Structures

- Core Material: Choice of structural 19mm Boiling Water Proof (BWP) Plywood or Solid Pinewood for a natural aesthetic.
- Pet Features: Cat towers use Eucalyptus log pillars treated for rusticity and wrapped in high-grade Sisal rope.
Hardware & Finish
- Moving Parts: Includes soft-close hinges, standard drawer slides, and heavy-duty locking castors for mobile units.
- Surface Treatment: Sanded to 220 grit smoothness and sealed with clear Water-based Polyurethane (PU) or hand-rubbed wax.
- Joinery: Functional assembly using pocket holes and screws; edges finished with banding or left exposed for an industrial look.
Handcrafted Kumiko Lamps & Wood Art
Artisanal Joinery

- Carving: Deep V-groove router work or hand-chiseling for textured nameboards and clocks.

- Lighting Components: Lamps feature Shoji paper or acrylic diffusers, branded E27/E14 holders, and inline wiring switches.
Natural Finishing

- Detailing: Chamfered edges and felt base pads to prevent surface scratching.
About Custom Furniture & Woodworking
What Kydo Stands For
Kydo is all about making things with hands—‘Kai’ in Kannada means hand, and that’s where the name comes from. I just like the feeling of turning an idea into something you can actually touch.
Furniture That’s Made for You
If you want something that fits your space or life just right, I can build it. Some of the things I’ve done before:
- Handmade shelving solutions for awkward corners or small rooms
- Desks and tables—adjustable heights, small sizes, whatever works for you
- Custom wooden pet furniture (yes, even cat trees or special dog beds)
- Kids’ stuff like rocking horses that actually last
- Birdhouses, planter stands, and simple utility items that aren’t just for show
More Than Just Furniture: Decor & Kumiko
Sometimes you just need something beautiful in your home. I get that. I make art pieces and decor, but what I really love is Kumiko woodworking art—these are intricate Japanese lattice patterns, done without nails. I make lamps with them, and boxes that are almost too delicate to use.
Also, I do:
- Personalized carved nameboards for your home or farm
- Funky clocks—think cat faces or leaf shapes
- Custom stands for wireless chargers and jewellery
Prototyping Your Ideas
If you’re a designer or student, I can build scale models and prototypes so you see your idea before committing big.
How I Work
I like to talk through your ideas, figure out what you need, and pick the right wood (pine, plywood, upcycled wood design). I mix old-school joinery with power tools—nothing fancy, just what gets the job done well.

My Story
People ask me what Kydo means. Simple - 'Kai' (ಕೈ) is Kannada for hand, and 'Do' is just doing. That’s what we do, build with our own hands. There’s something wild about swapping screens for sawdust. I’ve seen teens, engineers, designers all hit that flow state in the workshop. You come in with ideas, leave with a shelf or a Japanese lamp you made. It’s the making, not just the thing itself, that’s magic.
My Work
Woodworking workshops in Bangalore & Pune - We run hands-on woodcraft sessions for all skill levels. You build something real, not just watch.
Weekend classes - from basics to Japanese Kumiko - Trade your keyboard for a saw. Learn hand tools, power tools, and try Japanese Kumiko art.
For beginners, designers, and anyone curious - Doesn’t matter if you’ve never held a chisel or want a portfolio piece. All are welcome.
Mixing old-school craft with new tech - We use classic woodworking and 3D printing. Sometimes it’s a shelf, sometimes a fixed car part.
