About Floor Skills: Building from the Ground Up
I don’t stand on the sidelines. I am on the mat with every student, physically spotting their walkovers and back handsprings to ensure they stay safe while they learn. It’s about building muscle memory and the courage to try a move you were scared of five minutes ago. If you want results, you have to be ready to put in the work.
Building the Foundation
Gymnastics is not just about flipping. It is about control, discipline, and the 'gundige'—the guts—to push your limits. My floor sessions at Aerial Zone in Gottigere focus on the essential building blocks: cartwheels, roundoffs, walkovers, and handstands. These are not just exercises; they are the baseline for every advanced skill your child will learn later.
The Importance of Spotting
Safety is non-negotiable. I do not just point at the mat; I am there to spot, guide, and correct. Whether a student is struggling with a backward roll or learning the mechanics of a front handspring, my hands-on approach ensures they understand the weight distribution and balance required for each move. This immediate feedback helps kids unlearn the fear of falling and replace it with the confidence to attempt new sequences.
Why Start Here
Many students come in thinking they can't do a specific skill. My goal is to change that mindset. We break down complex movements into smaller, manageable steps. By repeating these drills, we build the functional strength and flexibility required to execute clean routines. We train in a fully matted warehouse environment, which gives students the space and the safe surface they need to fail, adjust, and eventually succeed. If you are looking for a coach who pushes for effort rather than just looks, you are in the right place.
