About Mastering Floor & Tumbling
We don't just tell you how to flip; we are right there on the mat with you. Whether you are working on a round-off back handspring or just trying to find your balance in a bridge, you will get physical spotting to keep you safe and consistent practice to build that crucial muscle memory.
How We Build Your Floor Skills
Gymnastics is not magic—it is repetition and controlled progression. My approach at Epic Gymnastics Academy is simple: we start with the basics to ensure your body is ready, then we move to the skills you actually want to learn.
The Foundation Before you run and jump, you need to control your own weight. We start every session with core conditioning and flexibility drills. If your core is weak, your tumbling won't be clean. We use wall bars and specific resistance exercises to build the strength needed for those high-energy routines.
The Progression We follow a logical sequence so you never feel out of your depth:
- Basics: Cartwheels, handstands, and bridge kick-overs. We drill these until they feel natural.
- Transitions: Linking moves, like going from a round-off straight into a back handspring. This is where we focus on rhythm and power.
- Advanced Tumbling: Once you have the foundation, we introduce aerials, front tucks, and back tucks.
Safety First It is okay to fall—that is why we have crash mats and a foam pit. My job is to spot you during your attempts so you can push your limits without the fear of injury. Whether you are a kid training for IGCI meets or an adult looking to learn a new skill, we keep the training environment professional yet encouraging.
If you are aiming for competition, we layer in routine choreography and pressure management. If you are just here for fitness, we focus on making you stronger and more mobile. Either way, show up ready to work.
