Every great gymnast starts with a solid foundation. Here, we break down foundational tumbling into safe, step-by-step movements to help your child build confidence and strength.

A good day at our RR Nagar academy is full of movement. Here you can see students practicing their cartwheels and kicks, fundamental skills that build coordination and strength.

Rolls are one of the first and most important skills we teach. They are crucial for learning how to fall safely and for progressing to more complex tumbling passes. Here, kids are practicing different variations.

In our group classes, I make sure every child gets guidance. Here, I'm spotting a student as she practices her front walkover on a soft block, helping her build the strength and control to execute the move.

The front walkover is a beautiful skill that combines flexibility and strength. I provide hands-on support to guide students through the motion, ensuring they maintain the correct form from start to finish.

This video shows the basic progress of one of our students, from a backward roll to a confident finishing stance. Mastering these basics is a skill for life, building coordination and body awareness.

The aerial, or no-handed cartwheel, is a major goal for many students. I provide close spotting to help them understand the feeling of the movement before they try it on their own.

Our kids' gymnastics batch is a place to build fitness, confidence, and friendships. Here, I'm assisting students with their handstand walkovers and cartwheels on a wedge mat.

This is a great view of a front walkover practice at our RR Nagar branch. I stand by to offer support and encouragement, ensuring the student feels confident as she works on her technique.

This clip shows students working on back walkovers and other tumbling skills. We create a dynamic environment where kids are always moving, practicing, and improving together.

We offer free trial sessions so you can see our classes for yourself. This video shows me assisting students with various skills, including walkovers and handstand drills, in a typical group class.

About Mastering the Basics: Cartwheels & Walkovers

You won't just see students throwing themselves around here. I stand right next to them, hands on, to spot every landing and guide their weight. Whether it’s a cartwheel or a front walkover, we use wedge mats and soft blocks to make sure they feel safe enough to try the move again, even if they wobble the first few times.

Building a Solid Foundation

Learning gymnastics is not about rushing to the flashy flips. It starts here, with the cartwheel and the walkover. These are not just tricks; they are the drills that build the coordination, balance, and core strength your child needs to safely progress to advanced tumbling.

The Fly High Method

When a child steps onto our mats in Banashankari or RR Nagar, they hear one thing: Hogli hogli (let it go). Fear is the biggest hurdle to learning a cartwheel. By breaking the move down into manageable parts—focusing on hand placement, straight legs, and core engagement—we take the intimidation out of the process.

Safety First, Always

My approach is highly hands-on. I do not just instruct; I spot. For students working on their front walkovers, I am physically there to support their back and guide the rotation. This tactile feedback prevents injury and gives the student the mental confidence to push through the movement on their own.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • My child is a complete beginner. Is this okay? Absolutely. These classes are designed for ages 4 and up. We do not expect perfection, we expect effort.
  • What if they are scared to go upside down? That is normal. We start with wall-assisted drills and soft wedge mats until they are ready to move to the open floor.
  • Is there a lot of waiting around? We cap our batches at 15 students. This ensures that every child gets active training time rather than spending their session standing in a line.
