Chair yoga is a fundamental part of my corporate offering, making the practice accessible to everyone. This pose, an adaptation of Revolved Bird of Paradise, uses a simple office chair for support to build core strength, improve balance, and open the hips without needing a yoga mat.
According to yogic science, our breath, or prana, is our driving life force. I teach simple yet profound breathing exercises like Nadi Shuddhi (Alternate Nostril Breathing) to help employees calm their nervous system, reduce anxiety, and increase their energy levels during a busy day.
About Techniques for Workplace Wellness
My workplace sessions focus on micro-practices that require zero gym gear. Whether it is Trataka, a gazing technique to soothe digital eye strain, or seated spinal twists to release the tension of long meetings, I ensure these techniques are integrated into your office schedule without needing a yoga mat.
I approach corporate wellness not as a break from work, but as a way to sustain your capacity for it. My sessions often begin with a short talk on the yogic science behind our stress, connecting ancient wisdom to the modern reality of desk-bound life. We focus on three specific pillars during these sessions.
First is Desk Ergonomics through Asana. We correct posture while seated, using gentle twists and stretches that can be performed in work clothes to mitigate lower back pain and stiffness. Second is Visual Health. Using Trataka, we counter the impact of prolonged screen time, reducing eye fatigue and headaches.
Third is Energy Management. I teach Nadi Shuddhi, an alternate nostril breathing technique, to calm the nervous system and help employees regain focus during high-pressure days. Whether your team is working from home or in the office, I adapt these sessions to the medium. We can conduct these via Zoom for distributed teams, or I can visit your location to provide hands-on adjustments for posture correction and pain management. My goal is to ensure that even a 30-minute window of practice leaves your team feeling more capable, grounded, and alert.
