Kaushalam Yoga

Kaushalam Yoga

I guide you through the science of yoga, where each asana is a story rooted in our scriptures. My practice is designed for holistic well-being, with specialized classes for therapeutic needs, corporate wellness, and all age groups.

Here, I am guiding a team through simple stretches right at their desks. These on-site sessions are an effective way to break the monotony of long working hours and introduce the benefits of yoga directly into the corporate environment, improving both posture and focus.
The practice of pranayama, or conscious breathing, is a powerful tool to manage workplace stress and enhance mental clarity. I guide employees through these techniques to help them regulate their prana, or life force energy, leading to a calmer and more productive state of mind.
Even advanced asanas can be adapted for the office. This is a variation of Parivrtta Svarga Dvijasana (Revolved Bird of Paradise Pose) using a chair, demonstrating how I make yoga accessible to all. This is a core part of my chair yoga sessions, designed to build strength, balance, and flexibility for desk-bound professionals.

In the stillness of nature, surrounded by the quiet strength of bamboo, we find our own center. I believe true yoga begins when we learn to sit with ourselves. This is Padmasana, the Lotus Pose, a foundational posture for meditation that helps quiet the mind and connect with the spirit.
This is Natarajasana, the Lord of the Dance Pose, which embodies the cosmic dance of Lord Shiva. It is a profound expression of dynamic balance and grace. Through this asana, we learn to find stillness even in movement, creating a harmony between strength and flexibility.
According to yogic science, our breath, or 'prana', is our vital life force. Here, I practice Nadi Shodhana, or alternate nostril breathing, a powerful pranayama technique to purify the energy channels, calm the nervous system, and bring clarity to the mind. Correct breathing is the key to a healthy body and spirit.
Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana, the Extended Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose, teaches us the importance of a firm foundation. By grounding through the standing leg, we can extend and expand, finding a balance between rooting down and reaching up. This asana develops concentration and strengthens the entire leg.
Ushtrasana, the Camel Pose, is a powerful backbend that opens the heart chakra, Anahata. This posture stretches the entire front of the body and improves spinal flexibility. I teach this asana to help release stored emotions and cultivate a sense of openness and courage.
A sound mind resides in a sound body. Finding a moment of peace through simple meditative postures in a natural setting is a practice I encourage for all my students. This helps us detach from the constant thoughts of the body and focus on the tranquility of the mind.

In Kandasana, I connect with the energy of the universe, symbolized by the flock of birds taking flight at dawn. This pose, which targets the root *kanda* near the navel, is a profound practice for awakening the dormant Kundalini energy. My teaching emphasizes not just the physical form, but the deep spiritual and energetic benefits of each asana, helping you find your own inner peace and power.
Here, I practice Bakasana, the Crane Pose, on a rock amidst a flowing waterfall. This arm-balancing asana requires immense focus and core strength, teaching us to find stillness and stability even when surrounded by constant movement. Through my guidance, you will learn to build such physical and mental fortitude, one breath at a time.
This is Natarajasana, the Lord of the Dance Pose, a tribute to Lord Shiva's cosmic dance of creation and destruction. It is a beautiful expression of balance and grace that opens the heart and shoulders. As the Bhagavad Gita teaches, when we achieve a state of divine consciousness, our intelligence becomes steady, and we transcend worldly miseries.
In the tranquility of nature, I practice Nadi Shuddhi Pranayama, or alternate nostril breathing. The breath, or *prana*, is our vital life force. My sessions focus on teaching correct breathing techniques to calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and purify the energy channels of the body, which is fundamental for overall health.
Using yoga blocks in Paschimottanasana, or the Seated Forward Bend, allows for a deeper and more supported stretch. Props are not a sign of weakness but a tool for intelligent practice. I incorporate them into my personal training to make asanas accessible to all body types and to help you safely progress in your flexibility journey.
Bhekasana, the Frog Pose, is a deep back-bending asana that offers an intense stretch for the quadriceps and hip flexors while opening the chest. This pose is excellent for improving posture and strengthening the spine. My one-on-one sessions ensure you approach such advanced postures with the right technique to maximize benefits and prevent injury.
Seated before a magnificent sculpture of the Seshnag protecting the Shiva Lingam, I connect with the divine energy of Adi Yogi, the first yogi. My practice is deeply rooted in the spiritual traditions of India. I share these connections to help you understand yoga not just as exercise, but as a profound path to self-realization.

Yoga should be accessible to everyone. Here, I demonstrate a variation of the Revolved Bird of Paradise pose using a chair for support. This is an example of adaptive yoga, where we use props to make even advanced postures achievable, ensuring a safe and effective practice for those with limited mobility.
Pranayama, or the science of breathwork, is central to healing. In this image, I am practicing Nadi Shuddhi pranayama in a peaceful park. This technique is invaluable for calming the mind, reducing anxiety, and balancing the body's vital energy, or prana.
Natarajasana, the Lord of the Dance Pose, is a beautiful expression of balance and grace. Practicing this asana by the water reminds me that true stability comes from a calm and focused mind, a state we cultivate together in our sessions to manage stress and find inner peace.
Ustrasana, or Camel Pose, is a powerful backbend that opens the heart chakra and stretches the entire front of the body. Practicing this asana helps improve posture and can alleviate mild back pain, demonstrating how yogic science can be applied to heal the body.

Leading a corporate yoga workshop, I guide office professionals through simple chair yoga stretches. These sessions are designed to be practical and accessible, helping to relieve desk-related stress, improve posture, and boost mental clarity right in the workplace.
In a posture of reverence before a sacred Shiva Lingam, I connect with the origins of yoga. My workshops are steeped in this ancient tradition, viewing yoga not just as exercise, but as a profound spiritual discipline or 'sadhana' for harmonizing body, mind, and spirit.
Here I perform Bakasana, the Crane Pose, on a rock amidst a flowing waterfall. This arm-balancing asana builds significant upper body strength and concentration, teaching us to find stillness and stability even when surrounded by the constant motion of life.
Using yoga blocks to deepen the Paschimottanasana, or Seated Forward Bend. My therapeutic approach often incorporates props to make poses more accessible, allowing every student to safely explore their limits and destroy the sluggishness of the body.
Practicing Nadi Shuddhi Pranayama, or alternate nostril breathing, in a tranquil park. Breath, or 'prana', is our vital life force. In my workshops, I teach essential breathing techniques to calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and enhance overall energy levels.

My Story

Namaste, I'm Sunil from Kaushalam Yoga. Yoga for me? Way more than stretching. It’s living, breathing, connecting - body, mind, soul, universe, sab kuch (everything). Gita and Bhagavatam guide my practice, and I love sharing asana stories - Simhasana, Trivikrama-asana, each has a myth behind it. I travel temples, ghats, always chasing that real connection. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - world is one family, so I teach to help folks find the joy inside. Simple, spiritual, honest.

My Work
