Festivals and Special Events at Kahaani Box
We believe stories are meant to be shared, questioned, and celebrated. Join our community for festivals, author meets, and storytelling sessions that make reading a real-world adventure.
Day two of our Kahaani Box Utsava was 'hOle Book Habba', a festival celebrating Duckbill-Penguin authors. It was a day filled with laughter, fun, and fantastic conversations.

About this collection
Our events are built to be drop-in friendly, so don't worry if you’re running a few minutes late. We keep our sessions intimate, usually capped at 15 to 25 kids, because we want every child to actually participate in the craft or ask the author a question rather than just sitting in the back of a crowd.
Why We Do Events
We are not a 'shush-shush' kind of library. At Kahaani Box, we think stories are the best way to bring people together. Whether it’s our grand Kahaani Box Utsava, our 'hOle Book Habba' festivals, or intimate author meet-and-greets, we design these experiences to help kids fall in love with the process of reading, not just the finished book.
What to Expect
- Theatrical Storytelling: We don't just read aloud. We use music, props, and puppets to bring characters to life. It is messy, loud, and exactly how kids should experience stories.
- Author & Illustrator Meets: We regularly invite creators like Adithi Rao, Sanjana Kapur, and Niyatee Sharma. These sessions are perfect for budding writers who want to ask, 'How do you invent a dragon?' or 'Why is this character so grumpy?'
- Skill-Building Workshops: From creative writing to Lippan art and comic strip making, we mix literary themes with hands-on creativity. You’ll often find our spaces in JP Nagar, Akshayanagar, and Electronic City buzzing with kids working on their own projects.
A Space for Families
Many of our events, like the Kannada Book Club or our weekend quizzes, are designed for families to join in. We have a 'shoes-off' policy and informal floor seating, so bring your energy and get ready to get messy with crafts. Our team is always on hand to help if your child is new to the space and needs a little nudge to jump into the fun.
Kahaani Box Kids Library
I’m Neha, and I started this because I wanted a space where kids actually *want* to be. We’re not a quiet, dusty library; we’re a loud, fun tribe where stories aren't just read—they're acted out, questioned, and celebrated by everyone from toddlers to teens.
