About Teej & Sawan Specials: The Ghewar Collection
Making good Ghewar is not just about the batter, it is about the temperature of the desi ghee in the kadhai. If the ghee is too hot, the Ghewar won't have that perfect lace-like texture; too cold, and it becomes oily. We still use the same heavy iron kadhais my father used, ensuring that signature crunch that our customers in Jangpura and beyond have trusted for generations.
The Sawan season brings a special kind of energy to our shop in Bhogal. It is the time when our kitchen smells of hot ghee and frying batter all day long.
Why our Ghewar is different
We don't believe in shortcuts. Authentic Ghewar requires patience and the right touch. We use pure Desi Ghee for every batch, which gives the sweet its rich, traditional flavour that you simply cannot get with vegetable oils.
Our range for Sawan & Teej
- Doodh Malai Ghewar: The classic choice. A crispy base soaked in syrup, topped with our rich, slow-cooked thickened milk (malai).
- Kadhai Ghewar: For those who appreciate the original, deep-fried texture of a larger Ghewar.
- Mini Malai Ghewar: Perfect for individual servings or gifting. It holds the same flavour profile but in a size that is easier to handle.
- Pheni & Anarse: Alongside our Ghewar, we prepare these traditional Sawan treats, keeping the old-school recipes exactly as they were when my father started.
A note on freshness
Because we do not use artificial preservatives, our Ghewar is best consumed within a short window. If you are ordering for a family gathering or a festive celebration in Delhi NCR, please let us know in advance. We prepare everything fresh, so you get the crispness of the day, not a stale box from a shelf. Whether you are craving the traditional taste or looking for a festive gift, we are here to serve you the same way we have since 1925.
Kadimi
I am Ramesh Jain, and at Kadimi, we have been part of your Sawan celebrations for 100 years. My father taught me that a sweet is only as good as the purity of its ghee, and that is a lesson I pass on to my sons every single day.
