Real-World Self-Defense Techniques
Street threats don't follow rules, so why should your training? I teach simple, high-impact moves designed to neutralize real-world dangers, from road rage to weapon threats, keeping you safe in any environment.
This short video demonstrates a simple yet powerful defense against a slap. The technique focuses on blocking and redirecting the attack to create an opening for a counter, a fundamental skill in street self-defense.
A common attack is having your hair pulled from behind. In this demonstration, my certified instructor shows how to relieve the pressure and turn the tables on the attacker. This technique is designed to work for anyone, regardless of size or strength.
Here, we break down the defense against a mouth grab from behind, a scenario common in kidnapping attempts. The focus is on immediate, decisive action to break the hold and escape, a critical survival tactic.
Road rage can escalate quickly. This video shows how to defend against a front collar grab, a common aggressive move. The technique uses the attacker's momentum against them to break free and regain control of the situation.
This is a display of the training tools we use in our workshops, including replica knives and firearms. We practice with these to simulate real weapon threats, preparing you mentally and physically for the most dangerous encounters.
During a live demonstration, I explain the principles of defending against a firearm threat. Understanding distance, angles, and the attacker's mindset is just as important as the physical technique itself.
About this collection
You do not need a black belt or years of gym sessions to defend yourself. The techniques shown in these scenarios are built on a simple principle: leverage over brute force. Whether it is a hair pull, a collar grab, or a weapon threat, my team teaches you to exploit human anatomy to break the hold and escape in seconds, regardless of your current fitness level.
Beyond Martial Arts
Most training centers focus on sport, points, and choreographed routines. At Kavach, we train for survival. After 22 years in the Indian armed forces and police units, I realized that real-world violence in places like Noida or busy city centers is chaotic and messy. It doesn't look like a choreographed movie fight.
The Scenarios We Deconstruct
The photos and videos on this page represent the most common dangers civilians face today:
- Road Rage: Defending against collar grabs and slaps when an argument escalates.
- Grab & Hold Escapes: Techniques for hair pulls, mouth grabs, and wrist holds designed for immediate release.
- Weapon Threat Management: Realistic drills using replica knives and firearms to teach distance management, angles, and mindset under extreme pressure.
The Kavach Methodology
My system is not about fighting; it is about ending the threat and creating distance. We use 'Scenario-Based Defense' where we simulate your office parking lot or home environment to build muscle memory.
- No Experience Needed: Whether you are 8 or 55, male or female, we start from zero.
- Mindset First: We teach you how to spot a threat before the physical fight begins. By using Cooper's Color Code for situational awareness, you learn to manage fear and keep your head clear.
Our workshops are capped at 30 participants, ensuring a 1:10 instructor ratio so every student receives hands-on correction. We don't want you to just watch; we want you to do. Join us to transform from a victim to a survivor.
Kavach
I spent 22 years in the Indian armed forces and elite police units training for the real thing, not for medals. I founded Kavach because I saw that civilians face threats everywhere, from the parking lot to the home. We are not here to teach you showy routines; we are here to ensure you walk away safe.
