Pottery Workshops: Find Your Calm in Clay
Step away from the screen and into my studio. Whether you are a total beginner or looking for a creative escape, I will guide you through the meditative art of working with clay.
Here is a glimpse into my studio during our 15-day beginner pottery courses. It is a place where clay meets creativity, and students discover the joy of making something with their own hands.
I offer beginner-friendly, one-day hand-building workshops on weekends. Here, a student is creating a whimsical owl sculpture, learning basic pinching and joining techniques.
In my hand-building course, you can learn to make functional pieces like this teapot. The process involves coiling, shaping, and attaching the spout and handle, all by hand.
This student's beautiful hand-built vase took eight hours of focused work over five days. It is amazing to see such incredible progress in a short time.
My 5-day summer workshop for kids is all about connecting with the outdoors. We use real leaves and flowers to press into the clay, creating beautiful, nature-inspired pottery.
This young artist is showing off the coiled sheep planter she made in the kids' summer workshop. Learning to roll and attach coils is a fun way to build creative, three-dimensional forms.
I offer workshops for every occasion, like this nature-inspired session for a long weekend. It is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon learning a new skill and making a beautiful platter.
A student in my hand-building workshop carefully shapes a vase using the coiling method. Adding the spiral handles gives the piece a unique, artistic touch.
Using a real leaf as a mold is a simple yet effective slab-building technique we explore in my 5-day workshop. The clay picks up all the delicate vein details.

About Pottery Workshops: Find Your Calm in Clay
In my sessions, we focus on the rhythm of the work rather than chasing perfection. You will learn the basics of wheel throwing or hand-building, but more importantly, you will find a quiet space to slow down and create something entirely your own, from mugs to whimsical sculptures.
My Approach to Pottery
I believe pottery is less about the final object and more about the process. My studio in Uttarahalli is a quiet, nature-inspired space where you can leave the rush of Bengaluru outside. When you join a workshop here, you are not just learning a technique; you are learning how to slow down.
What You Will Learn
My workshops are designed for complete beginners. I break everything down into manageable steps, so you never feel overwhelmed. We cover:
- Hand-building: Perfect if you prefer a slower, more tactile pace. You will learn coiling, slab-building, and pinching to create organic shapes like vases, incense burners, or even animal-shaped planters.
- Wheel Throwing: For those who want to feel the rotation of the clay. We work on centering, opening, and pulling the walls of simple vessels.
- Design & Carving: We often incorporate sgraffito and leaf-press techniques, using nature as our blueprint for textures and patterns.
Workshop Options
I offer flexible durations to suit your schedule:
- 1-Day Workshops: A quick, refreshing weekend session to get your hands dirty and make something simple.
- 5-Day Courses: A more immersive experience where you can complete a small project, such as a hand-built vase or functional tableware.
- 15-Day In-depth Courses: Designed for those who want to build a real foundation, covering more complex forms and construction techniques.
We provide all the necessary tools and clay. Whether you are an adult looking for a creative hobby or a parent looking for a summer activity for your child, my studio offers a welcoming environment where you can connect with your inner artist.
