A Gallery of Student Creations and Artistic Pottery
From the first pinch of clay to the final glaze, explore the unique pieces shaped by hands finding their rhythm in our studio.
Inspired by nature, a student created this Monstera leaf spoon rest. The cut-outs mimic the natural holes in the leaf, showing great attention to detail.
This unique ikebana-style vase was hand-built by a student. The arched form creates a beautiful frame for a single stem.
A student's hand-built teapot with a carved vertical line texture and a rich blue glaze. The unglazed base provides a beautiful contrast.
This shell-shaped spoon rest with a two-tone glaze was created by a student in my 15-day combined hand-building and wheel course.
This charming tumbler was decorated by a student using colored underglazes to draw a delicate floral pattern before the final firing.
A wheel-thrown teapot by a student, featuring a deep blue dripping glaze over the natural stoneware clay body.
This rustic pitcher and cup set was made by a student and decorated with a leaf motif using a wax-resist technique.
About this collection
Most of the pieces you see here were created by students who had zero prior experience. Whether they are using a hand-building technique to shape a delicate animal planter or sitting at the wheel for the first time to throw a bowl, we focus on the meditative process rather than just the final product.
At Ihalo Studio, my goal is to help you disconnect from the noise and reconnect with your creativity. You do not need to be an expert to start. In fact, most of the pieces you see here were created by students who walked through my door with no prior experience in pottery.
We explore the full spectrum of ceramic art, from delicate hand-built figures like our whimsical sheep planters to functional, wheel-thrown teapots and bowls. We focus on nature-inspired designs, often using techniques like Sgraffito to carve intricate leaf patterns or applying rich, dripping glazes that mimic the textures of the forest.
Everything happens right here in our Uttarahalli studio. We provide a calm, supportive environment where you can learn the fundamentals of stoneware, experiment with glaze combinations, and watch your own work evolve from a raw lump of clay into something you can hold. If you are interested in trying this for yourself, I offer structured 1-day, 5-day, and 15-day courses. We keep classes small to ensure you get the guidance you need to turn your ideas into finished art.
