About Handmade Pottery & Ceramics
Why I Make Pottery
Pottery is my way to slow down and make something real with my hands. There’s a calm in working with clay that I just can’t find anywhere else. Every piece I make is a bit different, and I hope it brings you the same peace and warmth I feel creating it.
What Comes Out of My Studio
- Mugs, cups, pasta bowls, and snack bowls, all wheel thrown for that comfy grip or perfect sip.
- Tea sets, goblets, and even a few quirky kitchen pieces, like hand-built juicers and palettes for artists.
- Loads of vases (tiny to huge, marbled, doughnut-shaped, carved), planters with little leaves or animal designs, and hand-carved lamps that give off a soft, cozy light.
- Sculptural ceramic art pieces for your walls, incense burners that look like mini houses, and birdhouses, too.
How I Work
I use both the wheel and hand-building techniques. Some pieces are smooth and classic, others have bold textures from carving or sgraffito. Most of my work is nature inspired stoneware - you’ll spot leaf patterns, earthy glazes, and organic shapes everywhere.
The Real Deal
Making every piece is slow work. Clay can be moody - sometimes it cracks or warps, and not every idea works out the way I want. But that’s part of it. I use stoneware so you can actually use my pottery - it’s food-safe, microwave-safe, and built to last. My hope? You find something here that feels a bit special, whether it’s for your chai, your plants, or just to sit pretty on a shelf.

My Story
Hey, Ihalo Studio here. Pottery is my peace, my little escape. Nature’s everywhere in my work - leaves, textures, even the birds nesting in my studio (they really did!). Folks come in, get messy, and let their inner artist loose. I don’t take many custom orders, but once made a ramen bowl for a marriage proposal. That was something. My studio’s not just about clay, it’s about life happening all around.
